यश्चि॒केत॒ स सु॒क्रतु॑र्देव॒त्रा स ब्र॑वीतु नः । वरु॑णो॒ यस्य॑ दर्श॒तो मि॒त्रो वा॒ वन॑ते॒ गिरः॑
yaściketa sa sukraturdevatrā sa bravītu naḥ varuṇo yasya darśato mitro vā vanate giraḥ
If any one here is skillful and righteous, let him speak to us: Varuṇa or Mitra is he who appears to us, the voice of the forest.

ता हि श्रेष्ठ॑वर्चसा॒ राजा॑ना दीर्घ॒श्रुत्त॑मा । ता सत्प॑ती ऋता॒वृध॑ ऋ॒तावा॑ना॒ जने॑जने
tā hi śreṣṭhavarcasā rājānā dīrghaśruttamā tā satpatī ṛtāvṛdha ṛtāvānā janejane
They, renowned by wide brilliance, are the foremost kings, long-heard and mighty. They are true possessors, upheld by order, having the laws, ruler among men.

ता वा॑मिया॒नोऽव॑से॒ पूर्वा॒ उप॑ ब्रुवे॒ सचा॑ । स्वश्वा॑सः॒ सु चे॒तुना॒ वाजा॑ँ अ॒भि प्र दा॒वने॑
tā vāmiyāno'vase pūrvā upa bruve sacā svaśvāsaḥ su cetunā vājām̐ abhi pra dāvane
I formerly spoke this to those who sit on the left: with a clear breath they, intent upon strength, came to the granting of the spoils.

मि॒त्रो अं॒होश्चि॒दादु॒रु क्षया॑य गा॒तुं व॑नते । मि॒त्रस्य॒ हि प्र॒तूर्व॑तः सुम॒तिरस्ति॑ विध॒तः
mitro aṃhościdāduru kṣayāya gātuṃ vanate mitrasya hi pratūrvataḥ sumatirasti vidhataḥ
Mitra and Varuna desire that I travel on the path of lasting vigor; for Mitra has a well-ordered, benevolent purpose set forth before him.

व॒यं मि॒त्रस्याव॑सि॒ स्याम॑ स॒प्रथ॑स्तमे । अ॒ने॒हस॒स्त्वोत॑यः स॒त्रा वरु॑णशेषसः
vayaṃ mitrasyāvasi syāma saprathastame anehasastvotayaḥ satrā varuṇaśeṣasaḥ
May we be in Mitra’s abode, foremost among the honored; your offerings—O Agni—are for the host of Varuna and the survivors.

यु॒वं मि॑त्रे॒मं जनं॒ यत॑थः॒ सं च॑ नयथः । मा म॒घोनः॒ परि॑ ख्यतं॒ मो अ॒स्माक॒मृषी॑णां गोपी॒थे न॑ उरुष्यतम्
yuvaṃ mitremaṃ janaṃ yatathaḥ saṃ ca nayathaḥ mā maghonaḥ pari khyataṃ mo asmākamṛṣīṇāṃ gopīthe na uruṣyatam
Lead this people to Mitra as is fitting and proper; let not the fame of the generous one harm our sage-hosts upon the cow-path.
