Let Indra drink Svāhā whose soma, arriving, made thee a bull, O Marut-like one. May the gushing libations fill thee; may the priests offer the oblation, eager with desire.

May you, O Soma, with thy wings of breath, rise like a pair of coursers; may the offspring of the two lights create glory. Here may the conquering heroes drink thee swiftly; drink, O swift one, for the twofold friend is born.

(repeat of rv-3-49-5) We invoke the generous Indra here, filling with song the two streams of praise; hear, mighty ones, the terrible roar that smites Vṛtra and seizes the wealth of men.
