का त॒ उपे॑ति॒र्मन॑सो॒ वरा॑य॒ भुव॑दग्ने॒ शंत॑मा॒ का म॑नी॒षा । को वा॑ य॒ज्ञैः परि॒ दक्षं॑ त आप॒ केन॑ वा ते॒ मन॑सा दाशेम
kā ta upetirmanaso varāya bhuvadagne śaṃtamā kā manīṣā ko vā yajñaiḥ pari dakṣaṃ ta āpa kena vā te manasā dāśema
Who approached with the most excellent mind, O Agni, bestower upon the worlds? What understanding? Who around the sacrificer is competent with rites, and by whom shall we subdue thee in mind?

एह्य॑ग्न इ॒ह होता॒ नि षी॒दाद॑ब्धः॒ सु पु॑रए॒ता भ॑वा नः । अव॑तां त्वा॒ रोद॑सी विश्वमि॒न्वे यजा॑ म॒हे सौ॑मन॒साय॑ दे॒वान्
ehyagna iha hotā ni ṣīdādabdhaḥ su puraetā bhavā naḥ avatāṃ tvā rodasī viśvaminve yajā mahe saumanasāya devān
O Agni, come here, be present, seat yourself to our front; descend, O radiance, you born of the people. Protect the world’s order; we invoke you with sacrifice and propitiate the gods with Soma.

प्र सु विश्वा॑न्र॒क्षसो॒ धक्ष्य॑ग्ने॒ भवा॑ य॒ज्ञाना॑मभिशस्ति॒पावा॑ । अथा व॑ह॒ सोम॑पतिं॒ हरि॑भ्यामाति॒थ्यम॑स्मै चकृमा सु॒दाव्ने॑
pra su viśvānrakṣaso dhakṣyagne bhavā yajñānāmabhiśastipāvā athā vaha somapatiṃ haribhyāmātithyamasmai cakṛmā sudāvne
O Agni, be protector of all, skilled in striking, be the refuge of sacrifices; thus may you, Lord of Soma, approach for the worship of the gods—so we invoked and praised you at the holy seat.

प्र॒जाव॑ता॒ वच॑सा॒ वह्नि॑रा॒सा च॑ हु॒वे नि च॑ सत्सी॒ह दे॒वैः । वेषि॑ हो॒त्रमु॒त पो॒त्रं य॑जत्र बो॒धि प्र॑यन्तर्जनित॒र्वसू॑नाम्
prajāvatā vacasā vahnirāsā ca huve ni ca satsīha devaiḥ veṣi hotramuta potraṃ yajatra bodhi prayantarjanitarvasūnām
I invoked with speech and offerings the flames, the rites and the gods; I placed the priest, the sacrificial lad, the worshipper, the knower, the producer of wealth among the flood of offerings.

यथा॒ विप्र॑स्य॒ मनु॑षो ह॒विर्भि॑र्दे॒वाँ अय॑जः क॒विभिः॑ क॒विः सन् । ए॒वा हो॑तः सत्यतर॒ त्वम॒द्याग्ने॑ म॒न्द्रया॑ जु॒ह्वा॑ यजस्व
yathā viprasya manuṣo havirbhirdevām̐ ayajaḥ kavibhiḥ kaviḥ san evā hotaḥ satyatara tvamadyāgne mandrayā juhvā yajasva
As a priest’s oblation aided the mortal who served the gods, so now, O Agni, more true than truth, offer with gentle prayer and perform the rite: be wise, O sacrificer.
