वने॑षु जा॒युर्मर्ते॑षु मि॒त्रो वृ॑णी॒ते श्रु॒ष्टिं राजे॑वाजु॒र्यम्
vaneṣu jāyurmarteṣu mitro vṛṇīte śruṣṭiṃ rājevājuryam
May Mitra choose strength among the wilds and among mortals, the mighty, the sovereign of ritual fame.

क्षेमो॒ न सा॒धुः क्रतु॒र्न भ॒द्रो भुव॑त्स्वा॒धीर्होता॑ हव्य॒वाट्
kṣemo na sādhuḥ kraturna bhadro bhuvatsvādhīrhotā havyavāṭ
Prosperity is not impious; let ritual be auspicious; let the sacrificer and the offerer be blest by the priest's oblation.

हस्ते॒ दधा॑नो नृ॒म्णा विश्वा॒न्यमे॑ दे॒वान्धा॒द्गुहा॑ नि॒षीद॑न्
haste dadhāno nṛmṇā viśvānyame devāndhādguhā niṣīdan
He gave the worlds into the hand of man; the gods sat down in the cave as guardians.

वि॒दन्ती॒मत्र॒ नरो॑ धियं॒धा हृ॒दा यत्त॒ष्टान्मन्त्रा॒ँ अशं॑सन्
vidantīmatra naro dhiyaṃdhā hṛdā yattaṣṭānmantrām̐ aśaṃsan
The man here who knows, fastening his mind in his heart, held the spoken spells and kept them firm.

अ॒जो न क्षां दा॒धार॑ पृथि॒वीं त॒स्तम्भ॒ द्यां मन्त्रे॑भिः स॒त्यैः
ajo na kṣāṃ dādhāra pṛthivīṃ tastambha dyāṃ mantrebhiḥ satyaiḥ
Not barren he gave the earth, standing firm the sky, by true spells.

प्रि॒या प॒दानि॑ प॒श्वो नि पा॑हि वि॒श्वायु॑रग्ने गु॒हा गुहं॑ गाः
priyā padāni paśvo ni pāhi viśvāyuragne guhā guhaṃ gāḥ
Protect the beloved flanks, O Agni, preserve the cattle in the cave; cows keep the hidden abode long-lived.

य ईं॑ चि॒केत॒ गुहा॒ भव॑न्त॒मा यः स॒साद॒ धारा॑मृ॒तस्य॑
ya īṃ ciketa guhā bhavantamā yaḥ sasāda dhārāmṛtasya
He who dwells in caves and is mighty, who poured forth the stream of nectar—may that Lord be compassionate to us.

वि ये चृ॒तन्त्यृ॒ता सप॑न्त॒ आदिद्वसू॑नि॒ प्र व॑वाचास्मै
vi ye cṛtantyṛtā sapanta ādidvasūni pra vavācāsmai
He who distributes wealth and possessions, who established the ancient treasures—may he, the first of those who go, speak to us.

वि यो वी॒रुत्सु॒ रोध॑न्महि॒त्वोत प्र॒जा उ॒त प्र॒सूष्व॒न्तः
vi yo vīrutsu rodhanmahitvota prajā uta prasūṣvantaḥ
He who restrains the mighty hosts, who with great power protects progeny and growth—may he help and strengthen us.

चित्ति॑र॒पां दमे॑ वि॒श्वायुः॒ सद्मे॑व॒ धीराः॑ स॒म्माय॑ चक्रुः
cittirapāṃ dame viśvāyuḥ sadmeva dhīrāḥ sammāya cakruḥ
Mind-stiller, tamer of floods, universal life—firm in assembly, the wise have entreated and fashioned him.
