र॒यिर्न चि॒त्रा सूरो॒ न सं॒दृगायु॒र्न प्रा॒णो नित्यो॒ न सू॒नुः
rayirna citrā sūro na saṃdṛgāyurna prāṇo nityo na sūnuḥ
Not the splendid wealth, not the god of varied sight, not life, not the eternal hearer.

तक्वा॒ न भूर्णि॒र्वना॑ सिषक्ति॒ पयो॒ न धे॒नुः शुचि॑र्वि॒भावा॑
takvā na bhūrṇirvanā siṣakti payo na dhenuḥ śucirvibhāvā
Not the cup-bearer on earth, not the forest that yields, not the milking cow; stainless are the manifestations.

दा॒धार॒ क्षेम॒मोको॒ न र॒ण्वो यवो॒ न प॒क्वो जेता॒ जना॑नाम्
dādhāra kṣemamoko na raṇvo yavo na pakvo jetā janānām
He who held back wealth, not the warrior, not the ripe grain — he conquered the peoples.

ऋषि॒र्न स्तुभ्वा॑ वि॒क्षु प्र॑श॒स्तो वा॒जी न प्री॒तो वयो॑ दधाति
ṛṣirna stubhvā vikṣu praśasto vājī na prīto vayo dadhāti
The seer, not by praise, nor by sight, nor the famed steed gives delight; he bestows youth.

दु॒रोक॑शोचिः॒ क्रतु॒र्न नित्यो॑ जा॒येव॒ योना॒वरं॒ विश्व॑स्मै
durokaśociḥ kraturna nityo jāyeva yonāvaraṃ viśvasmai
Hard to approach is the sacrificer; the power is eternal — like a womb anew for all.

चि॒त्रो यदभ्रा॑ट् छ्वे॒तो न वि॒क्षु रथो॒ न रु॒क्मी त्वे॒षः स॒मत्सु॑
citro yadabhrāṭ chveto na vikṣu ratho na rukmī tveṣaḥ samatsu
He who is variegated as a cloud with whiteness — not the stallion, not the chariot; these are equal among assemblies.

He set up that which was created for the host; it did not blaze forth like a hostile lamp.

य॒मो ह॑ जा॒तो य॒मो जनि॑त्वं जा॒रः क॒नीनां॒ पति॒र्जनी॑नाम्
yamo ha jāto yamo janitvaṃ jāraḥ kanīnāṃ patirjanīnām
Yama was born, Yama gave birth; he is the elder, the lord of those who die.

तं व॑श्च॒राथा॑ व॒यं व॑स॒त्यास्तं॒ न गावो॒ नक्ष॑न्त इ॒द्धम्
taṃ vaścarāthā vayaṃ vasatyāstaṃ na gāvo nakṣanta iddham
We bound him with control, we settled him in dwelling; neither cows nor stars moved him from that place.

सिन्धु॒र्न क्षोदः॒ प्र नीची॑रैनो॒न्नव॑न्त॒ गावः॒ स्व१॒॑र्दृशी॑के
sindhurna kṣodaḥ pra nīcīrainonnavanta gāvaḥ sva1rdṛśīke
The Sindhu did not flood; the herds, rising together, saw the lordly vision.
