ब्राह्मण उवाच नाहं तथा भीरु चरामि लोके यथा त्वं मां तर्जयसे स्वबुद्ध्या। विप्रोऽस्मि मुक्तोऽस्मि वनेचरोऽस्मि गृहस्थधर्मा व्रतवांस्तथास्मि॥
The Brahmana said I do not, O timid one, move in this world in the manner which you, according to your own understanding, censure. I am a Brahmana endued with Vedic knowledge. I am liberated. I am a hermit, I follow the duties of a houscholder. I observe vows.

नाहमस्मि यथा मां त्वं पश्यसे च शुभाशुभे। मया व्याप्तमिदं सर्वं यत् किंचिज्जगतीगतम्॥
I am not what you see me in good and bad deeds. I pervaded everything that exists in this universe.

ये केचिज्जन्तवो लोके जङ्गमाः स्थावराश्च ह। तेषां मामन्तकं विद्धि दारूणामिव पावकम्॥
I am the destroyer of all crcatures that exist in the world, mobile or immobile, as fire destroys all kinds of wood.

राज्यं पृथिव्यां सर्वस्यामथवापि त्रिविष्टपे। तथा बुद्धिरियं वेत्ति बुद्धिरेव धनं मम॥
Sovereignty over the whole Earth or over the Heaven can be compared with this knowledge of my oneness with the universe). This knowledge is my wcalth.

एकः पन्था ब्राह्मणानां येन गच्छन्ति तद्विदः। गृहेषु वनवासेषु गुरुवासेषु भिक्षुषु॥
This is the one path for Brahmanas by which they who understand it proceed domesticity, or abodes in the forest, or residence with preceptors, among mendicants.

लिङ्गैर्बहुभिरव्यौरेका बुद्धिरुपास्यते। नानालिङ्गाश्रमस्थानां येषां बुद्धिः शमात्मिका॥ ते भावमेकमायान्ति सरितः सागरं यथा।
With numerous unconfused symbols, only one knowledge is adored. Those who, whatever the symbols and modes of life which they follow, have acquired an understanding having tranquillity for its essence, attain to that one entity as numerous rivers all mecting the Ocean.

बुद्ध्यायं गम्यते मार्गः शरीरेण न गम्यते। आद्यन्तवन्ति कर्माणि शरीरं कर्मबन्धनम्॥
This path can be trodden with the help of the understanding and not of the body. Actions have both beginning and end, and the body has actions for its fetters.

तस्मात् ते सुभगे नास्ति परलोककृतं भयम्। तद्भावभावनिरता ममैवात्मानमेष्यसि॥
Hence, O blessed lady, you need have no fear about the world to come. With your heart intent upon the real object, it is my soul into which you will come!
