fo".ko āgnestanūurasi viṣṇave tvā somasya tanūurasi viṣṇave tvā'titherātithyamasi viṣṇave tvā śyenāya tvā somabhṛte viṣṇave tvā'gnaye tvā rāyaspoṣade viṣṇave tvā.
O Agni, you are the body of the fire, Vishnu; you are the body of Soma, Vishnu; you are the guest‑host, Vishnu; you are the eagle, you are the bearer of Soma, Vishnu; you are Agni, you are the nourisher of wealth, Vishnu.

भवतं नः समनसौ सचेतसावरेपसौ। मा यज्ञ म हि म सिष्टम मा यज्ञपतिम जातवेदसौ शिवौ भवतमद्य नः।
Bhavata≈ naḥ samanasau sacetasāvarepasau. Mā yaj¤a ` m hi ` m siṣṭam mā yaj¤apatim jātavedasau śivau bhavatamadya naḥ.
May you be auspicious for us, united in mind, conscious, with joined hearts. Do not let the sacrificial rite be deficient; let not Jātavedas, lord of the ritual, be displeased—be auspicious to us today.

आग्ने व्रतपास्त्वे व्रतपा या तव तनूउरियं सा मयि यो मम तनूउरेषा सा त्वयि। सह नौ व्रतपते व्र्तान्यनु मे दीक्षाम दीक्षापतिर्मन्यतामनु तपस्तपस्पतिः।
āgne vratapāstve vratapā yā tava tanūuriyaṃ sā mayi yo mama tanūureṣā sā tvayi. Saha nau vratapate vrtānyanu me dīkṣām dīkṣāpatirmanyatāmanu tapastapaspatiḥ.
Agni, you who are vow‑keeper, the vow‑keeper who is your body—let that body be in me, and that which is my body be in you. O Vow‑lords, together with us accept the vows; let the lord of initiation bestow initiation upon me; let Tapas, lord of austerity, accept it.

Yā te'agne'yaḥśayā tanurvarṣiṣṭhā gahvareṣṭhā. ūgram vaco' apāvadhīttveṣam vaco' apāvadhīt svāhā. Yā te' agne' rajaḥśayā tanūurvarṣiṣṭhā gahvareṣṭhā. ūgram vaco' apāvadhīttveṣam vaco' apāvadhīt svāhā. Yā te' agne hariśayā tanū u rvarṣiṣṭhā gahvareṣṭhā. ūgram vaco' apāvadhīttveṣam vaco' apāvadhīt svāhā.
Whether you, Agni, are of the nature of breath, body, or interior—may the potent word strike and cut off this (evil); may that word strike and cut it off, svāhā. Whether you, Agni, are of the nature of dust, body, or interior—may the potent word strike and cut off this; may that word strike and cut it off, svāhā. Whether you, Agni, are of the nature of Hari (gold), body, or interior—may the potent word strike and cut off this; may that word strike and cut it off, svāhā.

सिं ह्यसि सपत्नसाही देवेभ्यः कल्पस्व सिंह्यसि सपत्नसाही देवेभ्यः। शुन्धस्व सिंह्यसि सपत्नसाही देवेभ्यः शुम्भस्व।
Siṃ hyasi sapatnasāhī devebhyaḥ kalpasva siṃhyasi sapatnasāhī devebhyaḥ. ›undhasva siṃhyasi sapatnasāhī devebhyaḥ śumbhasva.
Be a lion, you conqueror of foes, for the gods; be a lion, conquering foes for the gods—be strong; be a lion, conqueror of foes for the gods—overcome the proud and the arrogant.

सिंह्यसि स्वाहा सिंह्यस्यादित्यवनिः स्वाहा सिं ह्यसि ब्रह्मवनिः क्षत्रवनिः स्वाहा सिंह्यसि सुप्रजावनी रायस्पोषवनिः स्वाहा सिं ह्यस्यावह देवान यजमानाय स्वाहा भूउतेभ्यस्त्वा।
Siṃhyasi svāhā siṃhyasyādityavaniḥ svāhā siṃ hyasi brahmavaniḥ kṣatravaniḥ svāhā siṃhyasi suprajāvanī rāyaspoṣavaniḥ svāhā siṃ hyasyāvaha devān yajamānāya svāhā bhūutebhyastvā.
Hail, be lionlike, svāhā. May the lion become the radiant host of the sun, svāhā. Hail, be lionlike—the Brahmin host, the Kshatriya host, svāhā. Hail, be lionlike—the giver of prosperity, the nourisher of wealth, svāhā. May the lion bring forward the gods for the sacrificer, svāhā; may you be unto beings.

सोचिअल स्चिएन्चे अन्द हुमन एलअरे अन्द एलिमिनतेस अन्तिसोचिअल ओर्चेस। ओर थे यजमन इत ब्रिन्ग्स स्पिरितुअल क्नोलेद्गे अन्द नोब्ले विर्तुएस। इ सेर्वे अन्द देवेलोप थिस नोब्ले लन्गुअगे थ्रोउघ यज्न ओर थे एन्लिघ्तेन्मेन्त अन्द हप्पिनेस्स ओ अल्ल थे लिविन्ग बेइन्ग्स।

युञ्जते मनऽ उत युञ्जते ढियो विप्रा विप्रस्य बृहतो विपश्चितः। वि होत्रा दधे वयुनाविदेकऽ इन्मही देवस्य सवितुः परिष्टुतिः स्वाहा।
Yu¤jate mana' uta yu¤jate Œhiyo viprā viprasya bṛhato vipaścitaḥ. Vi hotrā dadhe vayunāvideka' inmahī devasya savituḥ pariṣṭutiḥ svāhā.
The mind is engaged, so are the intellects; Brahmins and the wise are engaged in great understanding. The priests perform the rite with one Vayu—this is the great praise of the god Savitṛ, svāhā.

ईदम विष्णुर्विचक्रमे त्रेढा निदधे पदम। समूउढमस्य पांसुरे स्वाहा।
īdam viṣṇurvicakrame treŒhā nidadhe padam. SamūuŒhamasya pāṃsure svāhā.
This Vishnu, as he moved, placed his foot in three ways. May his gathered might be fixed in the shaft—svāhā.

ईरावती धेनुमती हि भूउतं सूउयवसिनी मनवे दशस्या। व्यस्कभ्ना रोदसी विष्णवेते दाधर्त्थ पृथिवीमभितो मयूउखैः स्वाहा।
īrāvatī dhenumatī hi bhūutaṃ sūuyavasinī manave daśasyā. Vyaskabhnā rodasī viṣṇavete dādharttha pṛthivīmabhito mayūukhaiḥ svāhā.
Iravati, endowed with cows, indeed becoming many, bestow offspring on the sage of the tenth generation. May she, bringing forth with vigorous might, give the earth its bounty with shining rays—svāhā.

देवश्रुतौ देवेष्वाघोषतं प्राची प्रेतमढ्वरं कल्पयन्तीऽऊउर्ध्वं यज्ञं नयतं मा जिह्वरतम। स्वम गोष्ठमावदतम देवी दुर्येऽ आयुर्मा निर्वादिष्टं प्रजाम मा निर्वादिष्टमत्र रमेथां वर्ष्मन पृथिव्याः।
Devaśrutau deveṣvāghoṣata≈ prācī pretamaŒhvara≈ kalpayantī'ūurdhva≈ yaj¤a≈ nayata≈ mā jihvaratam. Svam goṣṭhamāvadatam devī durye' āyurmā nirvādiṣṭa≈ prajām mā nirvādiṣṭamatra ramethā≈ varṣman pṛthivyāḥ.
O you hearing to the gods, proclaim to the gods: arrange the east, the fore and the upward sacrifice; do not let the tongue be false. The goddess made her own enclosure known: O Duryé, grant life; do not deprive offspring; let no deprivation be here; let them enjoy the rain of the earth.

दिवो वा विष्णऽ उत वा पृथिव्या महो वा विष्णऽ उरोरन्तरिक्षात। ऊभा हि हस्ता वसुना पृणस्वा प्रयच्छ दक्षिणादोत सव्याद विष्णवे त्वा।
Divo vā viṣṇa' uta vā pṛthivyā maho vā viṣṇa' urorantarikṣāt. ūbhā hi hastā vasunā pṛṇasvā prayaccha dakṣiṇādota savyād viṣṇave tvā.
Whether from heaven or from earth, whether from the great expanse—O Viṣṇu from the vault of the sky—both your hands are rich with wealth; fill them, bestow them. Grant them from the right and from the left to you, Viṣṇu.

प्र तद्विष्णु स्तत्वते वीर्येण मृगो न भीमः कुचरो गिरिष्ठाः। यस्योरुषु त्रिषु विक्रमणेष्वधिक्षियन्ति भुवनानि विश्वा।
Pra tadviṣṇu statvate vīryeṇa mṛgo na bhīmaḥ kucaro giriṣṭhāḥ. Yasyoruṣu triṣu vikramaṇeṣvadhikṣiyanti bhuvanāni viśvā.
He who stands firm in Vishnu’s praise, with heroic strength like a steed not fearful, whose hoofs are foremost on the hills—by whose threefold brave deeds all the worlds expand and are upheld.

रक्षोहणं बलगहनं वैष्णवीम इदमहं तं बलगमुत्किरामि यं मे निष्ट्यो यममात्यो निचखनेदमहं
Rakṣohaṇa≈ balagahana≈ vaiṣṇavīm idamaha≈ ta≈ balagamutkirāmi ya≈ me niṣṭyo yamamātyo nicakhanedamaha≈
I cast this Vaishnava stronghold, protection and mighty refuge; I set forth that fortress which is my refuge and which my protector cut not—this I proclaim.

रक्षोहणो वो बलगहनः प्रोक्षामि वैष्णवान रक्षोहणो वो बलगहनोऽवनयामि वैष्णवान रक्षोहणो वो बलगहनोऽ वस्तृणामि वैष्णवान रक्षोहणौ वां बलगहनाऽ उप-दधामि वैष्णवी रक्षोहणौ वां बलगहनौ पर्यूउहामि वैष्णवी वैष्णवमसि वैष्णवा स्थ।
Rakṣohaṇo vo balagahanaḥ prokṣāmi vaiṣṇavān rakṣohaṇo vo balagahano'vanayāmi vaiṣṇavān rakṣohaṇo vo balagahano' vastṛṇāmi vaiṣṇavān rakṣohaṇau vā≈ balagahanā' upa-dadhāmi vaiṣṇavī rakṣohaṇau vā≈ balagahanau paryūuhāmi vaiṣṇavī vaiṣṇavamasi vaiṣṇavā stha.
I announce to you the protective stronghold, O Vaishṇavas. I bring forth the protective stronghold to the Vaishṇavas. I cover the Vaishṇavas with the protective stronghold. For the two protective strongholds I place protection upon you, O Vaishṇavī. I array those two strongholds; you are Vaishṇava, O Vaishṇavī, stand firm.

ऊद्दिवं स्तभानान्तरिक्षं पृण दृम्हस्व पृथिव्यां द्युतानस्त्वा मारुतो मिनोतु मित्रावरुणौ ध्रुवेण धर्मणा। ब्रह्मवनि त्वा क्षत्रवनि रायस्पोषवनि पर्यू उ हामि। ब्रह्म दृंह क्षत्रं दृंहायुर्दृंह प्रजां दृंह।
ūddivaṃ stabhānāntarikṣa≈ pṛṇa dṛ`mhasva pṛthivyā≈ dyutānastvā māruto minotu mitrāvaruṇau dhruveṇa dharmaṇā. Brahmavani tvā kṣatravani rāyaspoṣavani paryū u hāmi. Brahma dṛṃha kṣatra≈ dṛṃhāyurdṛṃha prajā≈ dṛṃha.
Fill the firmament, O pillars, fill the mid‑air; strengthen the earth with firmness. May the Maruts and Mitra‑Varuṇa protect you with steadfast righteousness. I array for you the hosts of Brahmins, the hosts of Kshatriyas, the nourishment of kings. Strengthen Brahmin, strengthen Kshatriya, strengthen life, strengthen progeny.

परि त्वा गिर्वणो गिरऽइमा भवन्तु विश्वतः। वृद्धायुमनु वृद्धयो जुष्टा भवन्तु जुष्टयः।
Pari tvā girvaṇo gira'imā bhavantu viśvataḥ. Vṛddhāyumanu vṛddhayo juṣṭā bhavantu juṣṭayaḥ.
Around you may speeches and songs be spread everywhere. May long life and prosperous years be for the elders; may those worthy be joyful and the worthy ones be pleased.

ईन्द्रस्य स्यूउरसीन्द्रस्य ध्रुवोऽसि आइन्द्रमसि वैश्वदेवमसि।
īndrasya syūurasīndrasya dhruvo'si āindramasi vaiśvadevamasi.
You are the mighty one of Indra, you are steadfast Indra; you are Indra, you are the all‑god (Vishvadeva).

विभूउरसि प्रवाहणो वह्निरसि हव्यवाहनः। श्वात्रोऽसि प्रचेतास्तुथोऽसि विश्ववेदाः।
Vibhūurasi pravāhaṇo vahnirasi havyavāhanaḥ. ›vātro'si pracetāstutho'si viśvavedāḥ.
You shine forth as power, you are the flow; you are fire, bearer of the oblation. You are the kinsman, you are the wise ones; you are the hymn‑knowers of the universe.

ज्योतिरसि विश्वरूउपं विश्वेषां देवानां समित। त्वं सोम तनूउकृद्भ्यो द्वेषोभ्योऽ न्यकृतेभ्यऽउरु यन्तासि वरू उ थं स्वाहा जुषाणोऽ अप्तुराज्यस्य वेतु स्वाहा।
Jyotirasi viśvarūupa≈ viśveṣā≈ devānāṃ samit. Tvaṃ soma tanūukṛdbhyo dveṣobhyo' nyakṛtebhya'uru yantāsi varū u thaṃ svāhā juṣāṇo' apturājyasya vetu svāhā.
You are light, universal form, assembled like a council of all the gods. O Soma, you fashioned bodies; turn away hatred from those who hate; may they choose the excellent; svāhā. May those who obtain realm not fail—svāhā.

आग्ने नय सुपथा रायेऽ अस्मान्विश्वानि देव वयुनानि विद्वान। युयोध्यस्मज्जुहुराणमेनो भूउयिष्ठां ते नमऽउक्तिम विधेम।
āgne naya supathā rāye' asmānviśvāni deva vayunāni vidvān. Yuyodhyasmajjuhurāṇameno bhūuyiṣṭhā≈ te nama'uktim vidhema.
O Agni, lead us on the good path, wise Lord of the worlds and the winds. May we fight; grant us strength; may we perform the prayerful utterance to you.
Yajurveda 5.37 — Agni Devata

आयम नोऽ अग्निर्वरिवस्कृणोत्वयं मृधः पुरऽ एतु प्रभिन्दन। आयं वाजाञ्जयतु वाजसातावयं शत्रूउञ्जयतु जर्हृषाणः स्वाहा।
āyam no' agnirvarivaskṛṇotvaya≈ mṛdhaḥ pura' etu prabhindan. āya≈ vājā¤jayatu vājasātāvayaṃ śatrūu¤jayatu jarhṛṣāṇaḥ svāhā.
This Agni is ours, like a flood of bounty; come forward and smite the foe in the front. May this (power) of the Vājas prevail; may it conquer our enemies, may it destroy the hostile ones—svāhā.

ऊरु विष्णो विक्रमस्वोरु क्षयाय नस्कृधि। घृतं घृतयोने पिब प्रप्र यज्ञपतिं तिर स्वाहा।
ūru viṣṇo vikramasvoru kṣayāya naskṛdhi. Ghṛta≈ ghṛtayone piba prapra yaj¤apati≈ tira svāhā.
O thigh of Viṣṇu, be vigorous in prowess; remove decay. Drink the ghee from the ghee‑source; bear the lord of the sacrifice—tira svāhā.

O Agni, the keeper of vows, may the vow‑keeper who is your body and who is mine become manifest in you and in my body.

ऊरु विष्णो विक्रमस्वोरु क्षयाय नस्कृढि। घृतं घृतयोने पिब प्रप्र यज्ञपतिम तिर स्वाहा।
