āsyājarāso damāmaritrā'arcaddhū u māso' agnayaḥ pāvakāḥ. ›vitīcayaḥ śvātrāso bhuraṇyavo vanarṣado vāyavo na somāḥ.
From the east, from the north, from the south, the months, the fiery Agnis; the white‑chested, the grey‑eyed, the brown‑limbed, the forest‑roving, the wind‑born—these are not the Somas.

हरयो धू उ मकेतवो वातजू उ ताऽउप द्यवि। यतन्ते वृथगग्नयः।
Harayo dhū u maketavo vātajū u tā'upa dyavi. Yatante vṛthagagnayaḥ.
The green, the unwearied, the wind‑born, those who go to the sky: the Agnis strive in vain.

यजा नो मित्रावरुणा यजा देवांनऽऋतं बृहत। आग्ने यक्षि स्वं दमम।
Yajā no mitrāvaruṇā yajā devā|n'ṛta≈ bṛhat. āgne yakṣi sva≈ damam.
Worship for us Mitra and Varuṇa; worship the gods who remove untruth and vastness. O Agni, uphold the power (damam).

युक्ष्वा हि देवहूउतमांनऽअश्वांनऽअग्ने रथीरिव। नि होता पूउर्व्यः सदः।
Yukṣvā hi devahūutamā|n'aśvā|n'agne rathīriva. Ni hotā pūurvyaḥ sadaḥ.
Having yoked the gods' offerings, having yoked horses, O Agni, like a chariot—be the ancient priest, always.

द्वे विरूउपे चरतः स्वर्थेऽअन्याऽन्या वत्समुप धापयेते। हरिरन्यस्यां भवति स्वधावाञ्छुक्रोऽ अन्यस्यां ददृशे सुवर्चाः।
Dve virūupe carataḥ svarthe'anyā'nyā vatsamupa dhāpayete. Hariranyasyā≈ bhavati svadhāvā¤chukro' anyasyā≈ dadṛśe suvarcāḥ.
Two forms move: each for its own gain; they nurse each other's calves. In one (domain) Hari becomes the other's svadhā; in the other the bright one gives splendid effulgence.

त्रीणि शता त्री सहस्राण्यग्निं त्रिंम्शच्च देवा नव चासपर्यन। आउक्षन घृतैरस्तृणन बर्हिरस्माऽआदिद्धोतारं न्यसादयन्त।
Trīṇi śatā trī sahasrāṇyagni≈ tri|mśacca devā nava cāsaparyan. āukṣan ghṛtairastṛṇan barhirasmā'ādiddhotāra≈ nyasādayanta.
Three hundreds, three thousands—Agni thrice ten; the gods nine and their followers. They smeared grass with ghee, set bristles outside, and placed the uplifted oblation.

मूउर्द्धानं दिवोऽ अरतिम पृथिव्या वैश्वानरमृतऽआ जातमग्निम। कविंम सम्राजमतिथिं जनानामासन्ना पात्रं जनयन्त देवाः।
Mūurddhāna≈ divo' aratim pṛthivyā vaiśvānaramṛta'ā jātamagnim. Kavi|m samrājamatithi≈ janānāmāsannā pātra≈ janayanta devāḥ.
Agni, born from heaven's summit and from earth, the all‑pervading immortal, arose. The seers made the sage a ruler, a host, an honored guest; the gods created vessels for the people.

आग्निर्वृत्राणि जङ्घनद द्रविणस्युर्विपन्यया। समिद्धः शुक्रऽ आहुतः।
āgnirvṛtrāṇi jaΔghanad draviṇasyurvipanyayā. Samiddhaḥ śukra' āhutaḥ.
Agni slew the Vṛtras, shattering the treasure by his march. Kindled, lauded with oblation of Śukra.

आ यदिषे नृपतिं तेजऽआनट शुचि रेतो निषिक्तं द्यौरभीके। आग्निः शर्धमनवद्यं युवानांम स्वाध्यं जनयत सूउदयच्च।
Å yadiṣe nṛpati≈ teja'ānaṭ śuci reto niṣikta≈ dyaurabhīke. āgniḥ śardhamanavadya≈ yuvānā|m svādhya≈ janayat sūudayacca.
If a king's might, vigorous and pure, the seed cast skyward and frightened the heaven—Agni generated unassailable strength for the young; he produced svādhyā and raised the sun.

आग्ने शर्ध महते सौभगाय तव द्युम्नान्युत्तमानि सन्तु। सं जास्पत्यं म सुयममा कृणुष्व शत्रू उ यतामभि तिष्ठा महांम्सि।
āgne śardha mahate saubhagāya tava dyumnānyuttamāni santu. Sa≈ jāspatya| m suyamamā kṛṇuṣva śatrū u yatāmabhi tiṣṭhā mahā|msi.
O Agni, strengthen for great fortune; let your beams be foremost. Grant us Jāspati's boon, make our might equal; stand against enemies who come near, mighty one.

त्वांम हि मन्द्रतममर्कशोकैर्ववृमहे महि नः श्रोष्यग्ने। ईन्द्रं न त्वा शवसा देवता वायुं पृणन्ति राधसा नृतमाः।
Tvā|m hi mandratamamarkaśokairvavṛmahe mahi naḥ śroṣyagne. īndra≈ na tvā śavasā devatā vāyu≈ pṛṇanti rādhasā nṛtamāḥ.
We invoked you with gentle, dark‑red rays; O Agni, you will hear us on earth. Indra is not sustained by your praise; the gods do not prop up Vāyu by glory—they move by rightful ordinance.

त्वेऽअग्ने स्वाहुत प्रियासः सन्तु सू उ रयः। यन्तारो ये मघवानो जनानामूउर्वान दयन्त गोनाम।
Tve'agne svāhuta priyāsaḥ santu sū u rayaḥ. Yantāro ye maghavāno janānāmūurvān dayanta gonām.
May your svāhās be dear, O Agni; may the oblations and wealth be agreeable. May those generous ones who give wealth to peoples steer cattle kindly.

महोऽअग्नेः समिधानस्य शर्मण्यनागा मित्रे वरुणे स्वस्तये। श्रेष्ठे स्याम सवितुः सवीमनि तद्देवानामवोऽअद्या वृणीमहे।
Maho'agneḥ samidhānasya śarmaṇyanāgā mitre varuṇe svastaye. ›reṣṭhe syāma savituḥ savīmani taddevānāmavo'adyā vṛṇīmahe.
For the great Agni, the assembly's protection: auspiciousness to Mitra and Varuṇa. May we be best among Savitṛ's hymn‑minds; this day we choose the gods' favor.
Yajurveda 33.21 — Vena Devata

आ सुते सिञ्चत श्रियंम रोदस्योरभिश्रियम। रसा दधीत वृषभम। तं प्रत्नथाऽ यं वेनः।
Å sute si¤cata śriya|m rodasyorabhiśriyam. Rasā dadhīta vṛṣabham. Ta≈ pratnathā' ya≈ venaḥ.
Sprinkle wealth upon the born one, riches upon the giver of riches. May he pour out the juice like a bull. That is the foremost hymn, that is the song.

आतिष्ठन्तं परि विश्वेऽअभूउषञ्छ्रियो वसानश्चरति स्वरोचिः। महत्तद्वृष्णोऽअसुरस्य नामा विश्वरूउपोऽअमृतानि तस्थौ।
Åtiṣṭhanta≈ pari viśve'abhūuṣa¤chriyo vasānaścarati svarociḥ. Mahattadvṛṣṇo'asurasya nāmā viśvarūupo'amṛtāni tasthau.
Standing around, adorned in all, wealth wanders in its dwelling, brilliant in voice. Great were the hosts of the Asura named Vṛṣṇa; the immortal forms stood there.

प्र वो महे मन्दम्ञयान्धसोऽर्चा विश्वानराय विश्वाभुवे। ईन्द्रस्य यस्य सुमखंम सहो महि श्रवो नृम्णं च रोदसी सपर्यतः।
Pra vo mahe mandam¤ayāndhaso'rcā viśvānarāya viśvābhuve. īndrasya yasya sumakha|m saho mahi śravo nṛmṇa≈ ca rodasī saparyataḥ.
Go forth, great one, with the slow‑moving lamp; radiance to Viśvānara, to the world‑bearing. Whose is Indra's fair face—the companion of fame and the song that flowed around.

ईन्द्रेहि मत्स्यन्धसो विश्वेभिः सोमपर्वभिः। महांनऽअभिष्टिरोजसा।
īndrehi matsyandhaso viśvebhiḥ somaparvabhiḥ. Mahā|n'abhiṣṭirojasā.
To Indra, to the blind of the fish?—with all and with Soma‑feasts. Great is the desired vigour (ojas).

ईन्द्रो वृत्रमवृणोच्छर्धनीतिः प्र मायिनाममिनाद वर्पणीतिः आहन व्यं म समुशधग्वनेष्वाविर्धेनाऽअकृणोद्राम्याणाम।
īndro vṛtramavṛṇocchardhanītiḥ pra māyināmaminād varpaṇītiḥ āhan vya| m samuśadhagvaneṣvāvirdhenā'akṛṇodrāmyāṇām.
Indra loosened Vṛtra; he upheld the resolute rule of the magicians; he brought bounty to those who craft remedies; he stirred the battle‑shouting multitudes.

कुतस्त्वमिन्द्र माहिनः सन्नेको यासि सत्पते किं तऽइत्था। सं पृच्छसे समराणः शुभानैर्वोचेस्तन्नो हरिवो यत्तेऽअस्मे। महंनऽइन्द्रो यऽओजसा। कदा चन स्तरीरसि। कदा चन प्रयुच्छसि।
Kutastvamindra māhinaḥ sanneko yāsi satpate ki≈ ta'itthā. Sa≈ pṛcchase samarāṇaḥ śubhānairvocestanno harivo yatte'asme. Mahaṃn'indro ya'ojasā. Kadā cana starīrasi. Kadā cana prayucchasi.
Whence, O mighty Indra, do you come, O sovereign, why do you enter thus? The warriors ask and the auspicious ones speak: may that Hari come to you as mine. Mighty Indra, by what might? When do you mount a chariot? When do you advance?

आ तत्तऽइन्द्रायवः पनन्ताभि यऽऊ उ र्वं गोमन्तं तितृत्सान। सकृत्स्वं ये पुरुपुत्रां महींम सहस्रधारां बृहतीं दुदुक्षन।
Å tatta'indrāyavaḥ panantābhi ya'ū u rva≈ gomanta≈ titṛtsān. Sakṛtsva≈ ye puruputrā≈ mahī|m sahasradhārā≈ bṛhatī≈ dudukṣan.
When those Indra‑warriors poured forth like floodwaters, when you, O mighty, crossed the cow‑rich plains. Once you persecuted men, the thousand‑streaming wide earth, and greatly afflicted the great one.
Yajurveda 33.31 — Surya Devata

ऊदु त्यं जातवेदसं देवं वहन्ति केतवः। दृशे विश्वाय सूउर्यम।
ūdu tya≈ jātavedasa≈ deva≈ vahanti ketavaḥ. Dṛśe viśvāya sūuryam.
They bear the god Jātavedas with blazing banners. Behold—the sun for all the world.

येना पावक चक्षसा भुरण्यन्तं जनांनऽअनु। त्वं वरुण पश्यसि।
Yenā pāvaka cakṣasā bhuraṇyanta≈ janā|n'anu. Tva≈ varuṇa paśyasi.
By whose fiery eye people behold the earth around them. Varuṇa, you see (this).
Yajurveda 33.33 — Vidvan Devata

दैव्यावध्वर्यूउऽआ गतंम रथेन सूउर्यत्वचा। मध्वा यज्ञंम समञ्जाथे। तं प्रत्नथा। आयं वेनः। चित्रं देवानाम।
Daivyāvadhvaryūu'ā gata|m rathena sūuryatvacā. Madhvā yaj¤a|m sama¤jāthe. Ta≈ pratnathā. āya≈ venaḥ. Citra≈ devānām.
By divine harness the chariot came, sun‑skinned. With nectar they completed the sacrifice. That is the ancient path; this is the banner—wondrous among the gods.

यदद्य कच्च वृत्रहन्नुदगाऽ अभि सूउर्य। सर्वं तदिन्द्र ते वशे।
Yadadya kacca vṛtrahannudagā' abhi sūurya. Sarva≈ tadindra te vaśe.
What indeed today the slayer of Vṛtra has done, O sun— all that is under Indra's control.

तरणिर्विश्वदर्शतो ज्योतिष्कृदसि सू उ र्य। विश्वमाभासि रोचनम।
Taraṇirviśvadarśato jyotiṣkṛdasi sū u rya. Viśvamābhāsi rocanam.
You who traverse and behold all, you fashion the light, O sun. You illuminate the world with radiance.

बण महांनऽअसि सूउर्य बडादित्य महांनऽअसि। महस्ते सतो महिमा पनस्यतेऽद्धा देव महांनऽअसि।
Baṇ mahā|n'asi sūurya baŒāditya mahā|n'asi. Mahaste sato mahimā panasyate'ddhā deva mahā|n'asi.
You are great, O sun; thou art great, O rising Aditya. Vast is your truth, vast is your majesty; you are the great godly one.

बट सूउर्य श्रवसा महांनऽअसि सत्रा देव महांनऽ असि। मह्ना देवानामसुर्यः पुरोहितो विभु ज्योतिरदाभ्यम।
Baṭ sūurya śravasā mahā|n'asi satrā deva mahā|n' asi. Mahnā devānāmasuryaḥ purohito vibhu jyotiradābhyam.
Shining sun, you are great by fame; you are great, O protector of the gods. Great among the gods is the sun as priest, mighty light‑bestower.
Yajurveda 33.41 — Surya Devata

श्रायन्तऽइव सूउर्यं विश्वेदिन्द्रस्य भक्षत। वसूउनि जाते जनमानऽओजसा प्रति भागं न दीधिम।
›rāyanta'iva sūurya≈ viśvedindrasya bhakṣata. Vasūuni jāte janamāna'ojasā prati bhāga≈ na dīdhima.
As if bringing the sun, all Indra's hosts devoured it. The treasures, born, the peoples' vigour—no portion was withheld from them.
Yajurveda 33.42 — Surya Devata

आद्या देवाऽउदिता सूउर्यस्य निरंम्हसः पिपृता निरवद्यात। तन्नो मित्रो वरुणो मामहन्तामदितिः सिन्धुः पृथिवीऽउत द्यौः।
ādyā devā'uditā sūuryasya nira|mhasaḥ pipṛtā niravadyāt. Tanno mitro varuṇo māmahantāmaditiḥ sindhuḥ pṛthivī'uta dyauḥ.
At dawn the gods praised the sun; fresh with unbounded might they desired him. May Mitra and Varuṇa, Aditi, Sindhu, the earth and the heavens be our protectors.
Yajurveda 33.45 — Indra & Vayu Devate

ईन्द्रवायूउ बृहस्पतिं मित्राग्निं पूउषणं भगम। आदित्यान मारुतं गणम।
īndravāyūu bṛhaspati≈ mitrāgni≈ pūuṣaṇa≈ bhagam. Ådityān māruta≈ gaṇam.
Indra, Vāyu, Brihaspati, Mitra‑Agni, Pūṣan, the assembly of the Ādityas, and the Maruts—
Yajurveda 33.46 — Varuna Devata

वरुणः प्राविता भुवन्मित्रो विश्वाभिरूउतिभिः। करतां नः सुराधसः।
Varuṇaḥ prāvitā bhuvanmitro viśvābhirūutibhiḥ. Karatā≈ naḥ surādhasaḥ.
Varuṇa has sprinkled; O friend, may they all be favourable with their mighty powers. Do thou make our sacred offerings prosperous.
Yajurveda 33.47 — Vishvedeva Devata

आधि नऽइन्द्रैषां विष्णो सजात्यानाम। ईता मरुतोऽ अश्विना। तं प्रत्नथा। आयं वेनः। ये देवासः। आ नऽइडाभिर विश्वेभिः सोम्यं मधु। ओमासश्चर्षणीधृतः।
ādhi na'indraiṣā≈ viṣṇo sajātyānām. ītā maruto' aśvinā. Ta≈ pratnathā. āya≈ venaḥ. Ye devāsaḥ. Å na'iŒābhir viśvebhiḥ somya≈ madhu. Omāsaścarṣaṇīdhṛtaḥ.
Not only the Indras but Viṣṇu of the kindred, the Maruts, the Ashvins—they are the foremost. Thus is the ancient tradition. These gods, carrying oblations, sweet like Soma, upheld by sacred formulas.
Yajurveda 33.48 — Vishvedeva Devata

आग्नऽइन्द्र वरुण मित्र देवाः शर्धः प्र यन्त मारुतोत विष्णो। ऊभा नासत्या रुद्रोऽअध ग्नाः पूउषा भगः सरस्वती जुषन्त।
āgna'indra varuṇa mitra devāḥ śardhaḥ pra yanta mārutota viṣṇo. ūbhā nāsatyā rudro'adha gnāḥ pūuṣā bhagaḥ sarasvatī juṣanta.
Agni, Indra, Varuṇa, Mitra—gods press forward; the Maruts and Viṣṇu come near. Both Nasatyas, Rudra beneath, the knowledgeable ones, Pūṣan, Bhaga, Sarasvatī—be pleased.
Yajurveda 33.49 — Vishvedeva Devata

ईन्द्राग्नी मित्रावरुणादितिंम स्वः पृथिवीं द्यां मरुतः पर्वतांनऽअपः। हुवे विष्णुं पूउषणं ब्रह्मणस्पतिं भगं नु शं म सं म सवितारमूउतये।
īndrāgnī mitrāvaruṇāditi|m svaḥ pṛthivī≈ dyā≈ marutaḥ parvatā|n'apaḥ. Huve viṣṇu≈ pūuṣaṇa≈ brahmaṇaspati≈ bhaga≈ nu śa| m sa| m savitāramūutaye.
May Indra‑Agni, Mitra‑Varuṇa, the Aditis, heavens, earth, sky, Maruts, mountains and waters be invoked. I invoke Viṣṇu, Pūṣan, Brahmanaspati, Bhaga—hail Savitār, for prosperity.
Yajurveda 33.50 — Mahendra Devata

आस्मे रुद्रा मेहना पर्वतासो वृत्रहत्ये भरहूउतौ सजोषाः। यः शंम्सते स्तुवते धायि पज्रऽइन्द्रज्येष्ठाऽ अस्मांनऽअवन्तु देवाः।
āsme rudrā mehanā parvatāso vṛtrahatye bharahūutau sajoṣāḥ. Yaḥ śa|msate stuvate dhāyi pajra'indrajyeṣṭhā' asmā|n'avantu devāḥ.
May Rudras be with us, the roaring mountains, for slaying the Vṛtra, the joyous warriors. Whoever praises, extols, and invokes Indra the foremost—may the gods grant us strength.

विश्वेऽअद्य मरुतो विश्वऽऊ उ ती विश्वे भवन्त्व्ग्नयः समिद्धाः। विश्वे नो देवाऽअवसा गमन्तु विश्वमस्तु द्रविणं वाजोऽअस्मे।
Viśve'adya maruto viśva'ū u tī viśve bhavantvgnayaḥ samiddhāḥ. Viśve no devā'avasā gamantu viśvamastu draviṇa≈ vājo'asme.
Today all Maruts are all‑powerful, may all the fierce ones be kindled. May all the gods come to our aid; may the wealth and the valor be ours.

From the gods first to the sacrificers is immortality and the best portion. From the giver Savitar let life be bestowed upon mortals in the morning course.

They appointed the fleet-footed Saramā, sick for the mountain-top; the ancient chant led the eastern path, the strong companion. The foremost woman knew the sound when the letters advanced to the head.

,esu Nahi spaśamavidannanyamasmād vaiśvānarāt pura'etāramagneḥ. Emenamavṛdhannamṛtā' amartya≈ vaiśvānara≈ kṣaitrajityāya devāḥ.
Not here is any indistinct thing different from that—O Vaishvānara, formerly in the city of Agni. The immortal increased thus; the gods made immortal Vaishvānara victorious for the Kshatra-born.

Those who have slain you increase wealth, those who robe you in splendour, those noble ones in the foremost seats; those Brahmans who indeed praise you drink Soma with the company of Maruts.

īndra, lord of honour and power, commanding homage and obedience, riding horses of lightning speed, those noble scholars and pious people who invoke you and exalt you with the call to battle against the clouds of drought and darkness, those who call you to battle against the enemies of goodness, and those who exhort you to battle for light along with the sun-beams, and those who join you rejoicing with you in celebrations, with all these, with your troops and commandos, and with your tempestuous friends and forces drink the soma of honour and glory of success.
Indra, lord of honour and might, who commands homage and obedience, riding horses of lightning—noble scholars and pious folk invoke and exalt you: those who call you to battle against drought and darkness, against enemies of goodness, and to fight for light along with sun-beams; those who join you rejoicing in celebrations—drink with your troops and tempestuous friends the Soma of honour and the glory of success.

So now, Indra, seize for us the slayer of Vritra as our half-portent (share); great are the lands with their heroes.

You, Indra, are renowned among those who rise in battle; you are envied. The creator of hope, generator of all, you are the relish of the world; you sustain from youth to old age.

May the subtle stream following you gently press forth; may it bring forth the young like a mother. All are filled with envy of you; many praise Vritra which you have subdued.

Yaj¤o devānā≈ pratyeti sumnamādityāso bhavatā mṛŒayantaḥ. Å vo'rvācī sumatirvavṛtyāda|mhościdyā varivovittarāsat.
The sacrifice goes to the gods; by you the radiant Adityas are invoked and propitiated. Bring us, O auspicious thought, a favorable word and bestow rain and abundant sustenance.

Pra vīrayā śucayo dadrire vāmadhvaryubhirmadhumantaḥ sutāsaḥ. Vaha vāyo niyuto yāhyacchā pibā sutasyāndhaso madāya.
By heroic might the pure ones have given praise with oblations, the honeyed sons of the west. O Wind, bearer directed, come—drink, O sons, the soma appointed for the eye of frenzy.

The cows grazed over the earth, the sacred rite’s delight. Both ears shone with gold.

In the royal halls of poets they performed the rite, in Dākṣa’s hard place. The singers of the verses remained established in the assembly.

Daivyāvadhvaryūu'ā gata|m rathena sūuryatvacā. Madhvā yaj¤a|m sama¤jāthe. Ta≈ pratnathā. āya≈ venaḥ.
The divine officiants, carrying the offering by chariot with solar hides, by the sweet (priests) framed the sacrifice well. That is the prime invocation—this the pressing stone.
Yajurveda 33.74 — Surya Devata

तिरश्चीनो विततो रश्मिरेषामधः स्विदासीदुपरि स्विदासीत। रेतोधाऽआसन महिमानऽआसन्त्स्वधाऽ अवस्तात प्रयतिः परस्तात।
Tiraścīno vitato raśmireṣāmadhaḥ svidāsīdupari svidāsīt. Retodhā'āsan mahimāna'āsantsvadhā' avastāt prayatiḥ parastāt.
The rays spread in slanting bands; below they shone, above they shone. The seat of seed was majestic; the sacred places stood; effort from this side and from the other.
Yajurveda 33.76 — Indragni Devate

Brahmāṇi me matayaḥ śa|m sutāsaḥ śuṣma' iyarti prabhṛto me'adriḥ. Å śāsate prati haryantyukthemā harī vahatastā no accha.
May my thoughts be like Brahman; may my sons be peaceful; may the small ones prosper. May my mountain (strength) protect me. May he rule; may spoken words carry them away; O cows, bear those (gifts) to us — good and plentiful.

May these my words, O ancient speakers, grow for me. Pure, of the color of fire, the wise ones approached with hymns and stirred (themselves) toward me.

Yasyāya≈ viśva'āryo dāsaḥ śevadhipā'ariḥ. Tiraścidarye ruśame pavīravi tubhyetso'ajyate rayiḥ.
To whom this entire noble world is a servant, ruler, and enemy — may that shining hero, with brave might, be glorified to you; may the wealth (rayi) be dispensed to you.

āya|m sahasramṛṣibhiḥ sahaskṛtaḥ samudra'iva paprathe. Satyaḥ so'asya mahimā gṛṇe śavo yaj¤eṣu viprarājye.
This one, praised by a thousand seers and a thousand hymns, spread like the ocean. I proclaim his greatness true: may his funeral and the priesthood in sacrifices be mighty.

ādabdhebhiḥ savitaḥ pāyubhiṣṭva| m śivebhiradya pari pāhi no gayam. Hiraṇyajihvaḥ suvitāya navyase rakṣā mākirno' aghaśa|msa' īśata.
O Savita, having washed with the waters, grant us your favor; protect our song with auspicious ones today. O Hiranyajihva, auspicious one, newly stand for good counsel; guard us, free from sin, O lord.

Å no yaj¤a≈ divispṛśa≈ vāyo yāhi sumanmabhiḥ. āntaḥ pavitra'upari śrīṇāno'ya|m śukro' ayāmi te.
Bring to us the sacrifice touched by the sky, O Vayu; come with pleasing minds. This is pure within and above; this Sukra (Venus) I bring to you.

īndravāyū u susandṛśā suhaveha havāmahe. Yathā naḥ sarva'ijjano'namīvaḥ saΔgame sumanā'asat.
Indra and Vayu, well-seen, come kindly; we invoke. As all peoples with one mind sat together in assembly, so be favorable to us.

र्धगित्था स मर्त्यः शशमे देवतातये। यो नूउनं मित्रावरुणावभिष्टयऽआचक्रे हव्यदातये।
Rdhagitthā sa martyaḥ śaśame devatātaye. Yo nūuna≈ mitrāvaruṇāvabhiṣṭaya'ācakre havyadātaye.
He, mortal, sang the high song for the gods. He who truly invoked Mitra and Varuna for offerings made the oblation for the giver of the libation.
Yajurveda 33.88 — Ashvins Devate

आ यातमुप भूउषतं मध्वः पिबतमश्विना। दुग्धं पयो वृषणा जेन्यावसू उ मा नो मर्धिष्टमा गतम।
Å yātamupa bhūuṣata≈ madhvaḥ pibatamaśvinā. Dugdha≈ payo vṛṣaṇā jenyāvasū u mā no mardhiṣṭamā gatam.
May the two Ashvins come hither with sweet drink; let them drink sweet mead. May the cow’s milk flow for us; O strong ones, may our beloved robes not be crushed away.

May Brahmanaspati go forth; may the goddess come with truth. Bring forth the brave man, the line of men; may the gods lead the sacrifice to us.

Candramā'apsvantarā suparṇo dhāvate divi. Rayi≈ piśaΔga≈ bahula≈ puruspṛha|m harireti kanikradat.
The moon, long-winged and swift, flies in the sky. The abundant bright one desiring man’s good hastened — thus Hari declared.

Gods, gods, be invoked; O gods, to the wished-for god. Gods, gods, we call for strength for the mighty steed, praising with divine thought.
Yajurveda 33.92 — Vaishvanara Devata

दिवि पृष्टोऽअरोचताग्निर्वैश्वानरो बृहन। क्ष्मया वृधानऽओजसा चनोहितो ज्योतिषा बाधते तमः।
Divi pṛṣṭo'arocatāgnirvaiśvānaro bṛhan. Kṣmayā vṛdhāna'ojasā canohito jyotiṣā bādhate tamaḥ.
On high the fire appeared, the great Vaishvanara. With waning strength and diminished vigor it overpowers darkness with its light.
Yajurveda 33.93 — Indragni Devate

ईन्द्राग्नीऽ अपादियं पूउर्वागात पद्वतीभ्यः। हित्वी शिरो जिह्वया वावदच्छरत त्रिंम्शत्पदा न्यक्रमीत।
īndrāgnī' apādiya≈ pūurvāgāt padvatībhyaḥ. Hitvī śiro jihvayā vāvadaccharat tri|mśatpadā nyakramīt.
Indra and Agni cast forth the eastern ones like feet to the paths. Having cut off with head and tongue, they advanced; thirty-footed ones went forth.

देवासो हि ष्मा मनवे समन्यवो विश्वे साकंम सरातयः। ते नोऽअद्य तेऽअपरं तुचे तु नो भवन्तु वरिवोविदः।
Devāso hi ṣmā manave samanyavo viśve sāka|m sarātayaḥ. Te no'adya te'apara≈ tuce tu no bhavantu varivovidaḥ.
Truly the gods have allied with the mortal; all the swift charioteers together. May they be with us today and thereafter; may those who know storms be our protectors.

आपाधमदभिशस्तीरशस्तिहाथेन्द्रो द्युम्न्याभवत। देवास्तऽइन्द्र सख्याय येमिरे बृहद्भानो मरुद्गण।
āpādhamadabhiśastīraśastihāthendro dyumnyābhavat. Devāsta'indra sakhyāya yemire bṛhadbhāno marudgaṇa.
The gods, having struck (enemies) with shafts and blows, made brilliance in the heavens. The gods and Indra, allied — these mighty Maruts with great light appeared.

प्र वऽइन्द्राय बृहते मरुतो ब्रह्मार्चत। वृत्रं म हनति वृत्रहा शतक्रतुर्वज्रेण शतपर्वणा।
Pra va'indrāya bṛhate maruto brahmārcata. Vṛtra| m hanati vṛtrahā śatakraturvajreṇa śataparvaṇā.
For Indra with the great Maruts performed a mighty rite. The slayer of Vṛtra destroys Vṛtra with hundred-fold power, with thunderbolt and with a hundred-fold rampart.

आस्येदिन्द्रो वावृधे वृष्ण्यंम शवो मदे सुतस्य विष्णवि। आद्या तमस्य महिमानमायवोऽ नुष्टुवन्ति पूउर्वथा। ईमा उ त्वा। यस्यायम। आयंम सहस्रम। ऊउर्ध्वऽऊउ षु णः।
āsyedindro vāvṛdhe vṛṣṇya|m śavo made sutasya viṣṇavi. ādyā tamasya mahimānamāyavo' nuṣṭuvanti pūurvathā. īmā u tvā. Yasyāyam. āya|m sahasram. ūurdhva'ūu ṣu ṇaḥ.
May Indra be seated here; may he increase the Vṛṣṇya (clan) — glory of the son to Vishnu. The priests sing first his greatness as erstwhile. These are yours, of whom this is; this is a thousandfold. Upwards, uttara, ṣaṇaḥ (syllables).
