paralokasya pAtheyaM mokSopAyamanAmayam ॥ puNyasaMghaikanilayaM ziva ityakSaradvayam ॥ 51 ॥
The two syllables “Śiva” constitute the packet of flooding for the journey to the other world; it is the means of salvation, free from worries and is the abode of all merits.
Uma-samhita - Chapter 20 - Verse 52
Shiva Purana (siva.sh) · Chapter 20 · Verse 52
zivanAmaiva saMsAramahArogekazAmakam ॥ nAnyatsaMsArarogasya zAmakaM dRzyate mayA ॥ 52 ॥
It is only the name of Śiva that subdues and quells the great ailment of worldly existence. Nothing else does the same, as I see.
Uma-samhita - Chapter 20 - Verse 53
Shiva Purana (siva.sh) · Chapter 20 · Verse 53
brahmahatyAsahasrANi purA kRtvA tu pulkasaH ॥ ziveti nAma vimalaM zrutvA mokSaM gataH purA ॥ 53 ॥
Formerly Pulkaśa committed thousands of murders of Brahmins but on hearing the sacred name Śiva, he attained salvation.
Uma-samhita - Chapter 20 - Verse 54
Shiva Purana (siva.sh) · Chapter 20 · Verse 54
tasmAdvivarddhayedbhaktimIzvare satataM budhaH॥ zivabhaktyA mahAprAjJa bhuktiM muktiM ca viMdati॥ 54॥
Hence a sensible man shall enhance his devotion to Śiva incessantly. O intelligent one, one attains worldly pleasures and salvation due to the devotion to Śiva.
