ए॒ते अ॑सृग्र॒मिन्द॑वस्ति॒रः प॒वित्र॑मा॒शवः॑ । विश्वा॑न्य॒भि सौभ॑गा
ete asṛgramindavastiraḥ pavitramāśavaḥ viśvānyabhi saubhagā
These are the swift-charioted, the shining steeds, most pure-of-breath, bringing auspiciousness to all.

वि॒घ्नन्तो॑ दुरि॒ता पु॒रु सु॒गा तो॒काय॑ वा॒जिनः॑ । तना॑ कृ॒ण्वन्तो॒ अर्व॑ते
vighnanto duritā puru sugā tokāya vājinaḥ tanā kṛṇvanto arvate
Dispelling harm and distress, they, the mighty, bring strength to the city and kine, bestowers of wealth, making the plains fertile.

kṛṇvanto varivo gave'bhyarṣanti suṣṭutim iḷāmasmabhyaṃ saṃyatam
They make the waters and cows flow; they hasten praise; Ila is joined to us with devotion.

Not with pride nor with arrogance in waters are the foremost ones; the falcon did not settle on a birth-place.

Pure, blind to the path, the godlike one sprinkled in waters, washed by men, the cows enjoy with milky streams.

He made the primal horse, the harbinger not ill-omened, immortal for delight; the sweet sap flows from the gentle fountain.

Those who bring you streams, honey and flowing waters from the uplifted source — with them he attained purity.

He, lord of the seers, for the drinking was clothed in flowing hair unbroken; he sat apart in the forests.

This churner indeed is striking, the purifier who rejoices; he presses down the abundant flood.

This bull, bull‑energetic, the purifier stood firm; he put garments on the ten‑suckers.

This one is cleansed around, the bruised with life renewed; long‑limbed is the skilful maker.

Thousand‑eared, hundred‑faced, the aerial chariot of dust — the seer for Indra, exalted in tumult.

A mountain was born here, praised here for Indra; strength dwells like the springs.

The purifier born of men, Soma like a prize, shone in the host; in the bands he sat by prowess.

On the three‑seated, three‑jointed chariot they harness him, the sacrificers; with the sevenfold thought of the seers.

Those who spread him, rich in wealth, bear the prize to the chariot for strength; he wins the hero in battle.

They entered the pitcher, born, all the wealth of the seers to the sky; the brave does not stand among kine.

Come, Indra, for the sweet milking of the mead whom the herds milk; gods to gods are honey.

These Soma‑meals they pressed, the singers, in the great court; the pouring of its store by the channel.

They brought forward the bovine offerings for the feast, the men with renewed rites; the struck‑sound lyre poured around.

May the cows, the Gomati rivers, the noble ṛṣis and the wide ṛk-verse surround us, O Jamadagni — hear our call.

You, foremost of waters, hasten with speech like a wave; O purifier, conquer the world.

To you, O mighty one, the worlds and poets and steady Soma are appointed; the rivers flow toward you.

From you the rains of heaven flow; streams run forth together with brilliance and the bright river-mouth.

Indra purified the blazing moon and made it serviceable to Daksha; he sprinkled the northward course with victorious bounty.

The purifier, the poet, Soma, attained the sacred order of ṛta; he granted you glorious praise in the hymn.
