र॒क्षो॒हा वि॒श्वच॑र्षणिर॒भि योनि॒मयो॑हतम् । द्रुणा॑ स॒धस्थ॒मास॑दत्
rakṣohā viśvacarṣaṇirabhi yonimayohatam druṇā sadhasthamāsadat
May the protector, the all-encircling one, who established the fertile womb, be strong; with firmness he sat in the ritual place.

व॒रि॒वो॒धात॑मो भव॒ मंहि॑ष्ठो वृत्र॒हन्त॑मः । पर्षि॒ राधो॑ म॒घोना॑म्
varivodhātamo bhava maṃhiṣṭho vṛtrahantamaḥ parṣi rādho maghonām
May the best of rains be, O mighty one, the slayer of Vritra, the remover of obstruction; drive forth the abundant treasures.

अ॒भ्य॑र्ष म॒हानां॑ दे॒वानां॑ वी॒तिमन्ध॑सा । अ॒भि वाज॑मु॒त श्रवः॑
abhyarṣa mahānāṃ devānāṃ vītimandhasā abhi vājamuta śravaḥ
He approached the great gods with blind courage; he came to the famed prize of Vaja (wealth).

I move you, O charioted one, for this purpose through the days; Indra, approach us not with hostile intent.

पु॒नाति॑ ते परि॒स्रुतं॒ सोमं॒ सूर्य॑स्य दुहि॒ता । वारे॑ण॒ शश्व॑ता॒ तना॑
punāti te parisrutaṃ somaṃ sūryasya duhitā vāreṇa śaśvatā tanā
He purifies for you the widely-renowned soma, milked from the sun; with the vessel he keeps it constant, stretching it out.

तमी॒मण्वीः॑ सम॒र्य आ गृ॒भ्णन्ति॒ योष॑णो॒ दश॑ । स्वसा॑रः॒ पार्ये॑ दि॒वि
tamīmaṇvīḥ samarya ā gṛbhṇanti yoṣaṇo daśa svasāraḥ pārye divi
The maidens who are full of juice take up ten youthful ones; the sister-band goes around the sky's limit.

तमीं॑ हिन्वन्त्य॒ग्रुवो॒ धम॑न्ति बाकु॒रं दृति॑म् । त्रि॒धातु॑ वार॒णं मधु॑
tamīṃ hinvantyagruvo dhamanti bākuraṃ dṛtim tridhātu vāraṇaṃ madhu
Those who lead the first songs strike down the brown sacrificial cake and establish earth’s firmness; thrice they set the mystic oblation, sweet as honey.

अ॒भी॒३॒॑ममघ्न्या॑ उ॒त श्री॒णन्ति॑ धे॒नवः॒ शिशु॑म् । सोम॒मिन्द्रा॑य॒ पात॑वे
abhī3mamaghnyā uta śrīṇanti dhenavaḥ śiśum somamindrāya pātave
The cows, unoffending, lowed and nourished the young; Soma for Indra, the protector.

अ॒स्येदिन्द्रो॒ मदे॒ष्वा विश्वा॑ वृ॒त्राणि॑ जिघ्नते । शूरो॑ म॒घा च॑ मंहते
asyedindro madeṣvā viśvā vṛtrāṇi jighnate śūro maghā ca maṃhate
In this joy Indra slays all the foes; the heroic drinker exalts the glories and the generous ones praise.
