आ तू न॑ इन्द्र वृत्रहन्न॒स्माक॑म॒र्धमा ग॑हि । म॒हान्म॒हीभि॑रू॒तिभिः॑
ā tū na indra vṛtrahannasmākamardhamā gahi mahānmahībhirūtibhiḥ
O Indra, slayer of Vritra, take hold of our portion and our share; with mighty lands and powerful aids protect us.

Rush and roar; make your varied, wonderful deeds manifest; do wondrous works for our strengthening.

dabhrebhiścicchaśīyāṃsaṃ haṃsi vrādhantamojasā sakhibhirye tve sacā
Like swans desiring the waters, seeking the flood, you with heroic might increase; be our comrade with companionship.

vayamindra tve sacā vayaṃ tvābhi nonumaḥ asmām̐asmām̐ idudava
We are thy comrades, Indra; thou art our comrade: grant us what is ours and what is yours.

sa naścitrābhiradrivo'navadyābhirūtibhiḥ anādhṛṣṭābhirā gahi
Destroy for us the spotted, rocky, unpierced foes with mighty strength; seize them who have not been seen before.

May we again be yoked to thee, companion Indra, like cows; harness for the heroic, to win wealth.

tvaṃ hyeka īśiṣa indra vājasya gomataḥ sa no yandhi mahīmiṣam
Thou alone art the lord of mighty gifts, Indra, rich in cattle; grant us the nectar of the earth.

na tvā varante anyathā yadditsasi stuto magham stotṛbhya indra girvaṇaḥ
No others surpass thee when thou art praised and honored for might; Indra, thy praise is the loud-voiced hymn to the singers.

abhi tvā gotamā girānūṣata pra dāvane indra vājāya ghṛṣvaye
Gautama invoked thee with songs at the offering; Indra, harness for the heroic, to win wealth.

प्र ते॑ वोचाम वी॒र्या॒३॒॑ या म॑न्दसा॒न आरु॑जः । पुरो॒ दासी॑र॒भीत्य॑
pra te vocāma vīryā3 yā mandasāna ārujaḥ puro dāsīrabhītya
He addressed thee: ‘O mighty one, who art slow in anger, come forward to the sacrificial offering; I am the steward who brings it before thee.’

ता ते॑ गृणन्ति वे॒धसो॒ यानि॑ च॒कर्थ॒ पौंस्या॑ । सु॒तेष्वि॑न्द्र गिर्वणः
tā te gṛṇanti vedhaso yāni cakartha pauṃsyā suteṣvindra girvaṇaḥ
The seers praise to thee the things which the worshipper made—O Indra, the singers call upon thee in the offerings.

अवी॑वृधन्त॒ गोत॑मा॒ इन्द्र॒ त्वे स्तोम॑वाहसः । ऐषु॑ धा वी॒रव॒द्यशः॑
avīvṛdhanta gotamā indra tve stomavāhasaḥ aiṣu dhā vīravadyaśaḥ
Gautama grows with vows; Indra, thou art the bringer of hymns and prowess, glory and fame.

यच्चि॒द्धि शश्व॑ता॒मसीन्द्र॒ साधा॑रण॒स्त्वम् । तं त्वा॑ व॒यं ह॑वामहे
yacciddhi śaśvatāmasīndra sādhāraṇastvam taṃ tvā vayaṃ havāmahe
Whatever of the eternal is sovereign, common to gods and men, that we invoke with sacrifice.

अ॒र्वा॒ची॒नो व॑सो भवा॒स्मे सु म॒त्स्वान्ध॑सः । सोमा॑नामिन्द्र सोमपाः
arvācīno vaso bhavāsme su matsvāndhasaḥ somānāmindra somapāḥ
Be powerful, O bringer of rains, kind to us; Indra among the drinkers of Soma.

अ॒स्माकं॑ त्वा मती॒नामा स्तोम॑ इन्द्र यच्छतु । अ॒र्वागा व॑र्तया॒ हरी॑
asmākaṃ tvā matīnāmā stoma indra yacchatu arvāgā vartayā harī
Place upon us, Indra, stanzas of praise as our thought directs; proceed with the eastern chant.

पु॒रो॒ळाशं॑ च नो॒ घसो॑ जो॒षया॑से॒ गिर॑श्च नः । व॒धू॒युरि॑व॒ योष॑णाम्
puroḷāśaṃ ca no ghaso joṣayāse giraśca naḥ vadhūyuriva yoṣaṇām
May the town’s treasures and our milking cows, the hills and our songs, be for us like a bride to the youthful ones.

sahasraṃ vyatīnāṃ yuktānāmindramīmahe śataṃ somasya khāryaḥ
We extol Indra who joined with a thousand kept to our service; a hundred times the Soma’s strength.

स॒हस्रा॑ ते श॒ता व॒यं गवा॒मा च्या॑वयामसि । अ॒स्म॒त्रा राध॑ एतु ते
sahasrā te śatā vayaṃ gavāmā cyāvayāmasi asmatrā rādha etu te
A thousand, a hundred have you been, we drove the cows and brought thee riches here.

दश॑ ते क॒लशा॑नां॒ हिर॑ण्यानामधीमहि । भू॒रि॒दा अ॑सि वृत्रहन्
daśa te kalaśānāṃ hiraṇyānāmadhīmahi bhūridā asi vṛtrahan
We bear witness to the ten golden pitchers of yours; you are the abundant slayer of Vṛtra.

भूरि॑दा॒ भूरि॑ देहि नो॒ मा द॒भ्रं भूर्या भ॑र । भूरि॒ घेदि॑न्द्र दित्ससि
bhūridā bhūri dehi no mā dabhraṃ bhūryā bhara bhūri ghedindra ditsasi
Grant us much, more and more; do not give us scanty banquet; pierce, O Indra, with ample bounty.

bhūridā hyasi śrutaḥ purutrā śūra vṛtrahan ā no bhajasva rādhasi
You are much famed, mighty conqueror of Vṛtra’s kin; come, partake our riches, O Radiant One.

प्र ते॑ ब॒भ्रू वि॑चक्षण॒ शंसा॑मि गोषणो नपात् । माभ्यां॒ गा अनु॑ शिश्रथः
pra te babhrū vicakṣaṇa śaṃsāmi goṣaṇo napāt mābhyāṃ gā anu śiśrathaḥ
May your brows, discerning, protect us from the falling cows and from the flood; we have followed you with songs.

क॒नी॒न॒केव॑ विद्र॒धे नवे॑ द्रुप॒दे अ॑र्भ॒के । ब॒भ्रू यामे॑षु शोभेते
kanīnakeva vidradhe nave drupade arbhake babhrū yāmeṣu śobhete
Like nine swift mares scattering dew, your brows shine in the nights of charm.

अरं॑ म उ॒स्रया॒म्णेऽर॒मनु॑स्रयाम्णे । ब॒भ्रू यामे॑ष्व॒स्रिधा॑
araṃ ma usrayāmṇe'ramanusrayāmṇe babhrū yāmeṣvasridhā
Do not let the foam of urine besmirch us; your brows are like streams in the nights of bounty.
