आपो॒ हि ष्ठा म॑यो॒भुव॒स्ता न॑ ऊ॒र्जे द॑धातन । म॒हे रणा॑य॒ चक्ष॑से
āpo hi ṣṭhā mayobhuvastā na ūrje dadhātana mahe raṇāya cakṣase
The waters are the best of beverage, the mays are in the world; they established strength and gave sight for the great conflict.

यो वः॑ शि॒वत॑मो॒ रस॒स्तस्य॑ भाजयते॒ह नः॑ । उ॒श॒तीरि॑व मा॒तरः॑
yo vaḥ śivatamo rasastasya bhājayateha naḥ uśatīriva mātaraḥ
Whoever of you is most auspicious divides his essence for us; like a mother the waters flow to us.

तस्मा॒ अरं॑ गमाम वो॒ यस्य॒ क्षया॑य॒ जिन्व॑थ । आपो॑ ज॒नय॑था च नः
tasmā araṃ gamāma vo yasya kṣayāya jinvatha āpo janayathā ca naḥ
Therefore we sought the man whose decay you shielded; may the waters beget us and preserve us.

शं नो॑ दे॒वीर॒भिष्ट॑य॒ आपो॑ भवन्तु पी॒तये॑ । शं योर॒भि स्र॑वन्तु नः
śaṃ no devīrabhiṣṭaya āpo bhavantu pītaye śaṃ yorabhi sravantu naḥ
May the goddesses of waters be auspicious to us and be our draught; may the streams of both flow kindly to us.

ईशा॑ना॒ वार्या॑णां॒ क्षय॑न्तीश्चर्षणी॒नाम् । अ॒पो या॑चामि भेष॒जम्
īśānā vāryāṇāṃ kṣayantīścarṣaṇīnām apo yācāmi bheṣajam
I seek the healing herb that wards off decay, the mighty purifying flow that strengthens the vital powers.

apsu me somo abravīdantarviśvāni bheṣajā agniṃ ca viśvaśambhuvam
In the waters Soma spoke: “I have made all cures, and I have kindled Agni, the guardian of the universe.”

āpaḥ pṛṇīta bheṣajaṃ varūthaṃ tanve3 mama jyokca sūryaṃ dṛśe
Waters, grant the healing remedy, the favored boon for me; may the bright Sun be seen.

इ॒दमा॑पः॒ प्र व॑हत॒ यत्किं च॑ दुरि॒तं मयि॑ । यद्वा॒हम॑भिदु॒द्रोह॒ यद्वा॑ शे॒प उ॒तानृ॑तम्
idamāpaḥ pra vahata yatkiṃ ca duritaṃ mayi yadvāhamabhidudroha yadvā śepa utānṛtam
These waters carry away whatever evil is in me—whether hostile outrage or the sheep-like falsehood carried against me.

आपो॑ अ॒द्यान्व॑चारिषं॒ रसे॑न॒ सम॑गस्महि । पय॑स्वानग्न॒ आ ग॑हि॒ तं मा॒ सं सृ॑ज॒ वर्च॑सा
āpo adyānvacāriṣaṃ rasena samagasmahi payasvānagna ā gahi taṃ mā saṃ sṛja varcasā
Waters, united with sap, come near with your nourishing gift; O Agni-bearing, bring him to us—do not scatter your bounty away.
