Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 10, Sukta 177 · Verse 10.177.1

pataṃgamaktamasurasya māyayā hṛdā paśyanti manasā vipaścitaḥ samudre antaḥ kavayo vi cakṣate marīcīnāṃ padamicchanti vedhasaḥ

Birds seized from the Asura do not see by heart the wondrous sage; poets discern the inner end of the sea and desire the foot of the mirages like seers.

Rigveda 10.177.02

Rigveda · Chapter Mandala 10, Sukta 177 · Verse 10.177.2

pataṃgo vācaṃ manasā bibharti tāṃ gandharvo'vadadgarbhe antaḥ tāṃ dyotamānāṃ svaryaṃ manīṣāmṛtasya pade kavayo ni pānti

The bird bears speech by mind; the Gandharva spoke it in the womb within. Poets bring that radiant voice to the feet of the thoughtful, like the nectar of counsel.

apaśyaṃ gopāmanipadyamānamā ca parā ca pathibhiścarantam sa sadhrīcīḥ sa viṣūcīrvasāna ā varīvarti bhuvaneṣvantaḥ

I saw a herdsman falling, moving through paths both low and high. He, with long shafts and pointed staffs, flowing with waters, returned within the realms of the world.
