इन्द्र॒मिद्गा॒थिनो॑ बृ॒हदिन्द्र॑म॒र्केभि॑र॒र्किणः॑ । इन्द्रं॒ वाणी॑रनूषत
indramidgāthino bṛhadindramarkebhirarkiṇaḥ indraṃ vāṇīranūṣata
This singer praised Indra, the great, with the songs — the bright singers lauded Indra with their voices.

indra iddharyoḥ sacā sammiśla ā vacoyujā indro vajrī hiraṇyayaḥ
Indra, mighty winner, together with friendly aid mixed in, joined in the words; Indra is the thunder‑wielder of golden wealth.

Indra with long‑sighted eye made the sun ascend in the sky; he drove it forth with the deep‑thundering cows (metaphor for forces).

Indra, in our battles and among those bringing a thousand treasures, be fierce, fierce with roaring deeds.

Grant us abundant, excellent buttered milk, a vigorous, well‑grown herd; do not be unpropitious to us.

tuñjetuñje ya uttare stomā indrasya vajriṇaḥ na vindhe asya suṣṭutim
May he strike down who should be struck down, the foremost in praise of Indra, the wielder of thunderbolt; may none hinder his well-turned hymn.

vṛṣā yūtheva vaṃsagaḥ kṛṣṭīriyartyojasā īśāno apratiṣkutaḥ
Like a bull among herds, a leader in strength and daring actions; the lordly one, unconquered, ever victorious.

ya ekaścarṣaṇīnāṃ vasūnāmirajyati indraḥ pañca kṣitīnām
He who, single, bestows wealth upon the tillers; Indra, the giver to the five regions of the earth.

इन्द्रं॑ वो वि॒श्वत॒स्परि॒ हवा॑महे॒ जने॑भ्यः । अ॒स्माक॑मस्तु॒ केव॑लः
indraṃ vo viśvataspari havāmahe janebhyaḥ asmākamastu kevalaḥ
We invoke Indra with offerings throughout, on behalf of the people; may he be ours, the sole protector.
