वष॑ट् ते पूषन्न॒स्मिन्त्सू॑तावर्य॒मा होता॑ कृणोतु वे॒धाः । सिस्र॑तां॒ नार्यृ॒तप्र॑जाता॒ वि पर्वा॑णि जिहतां॒ सूत॒वा उ॑ ॥१॥
vaṣaṭ te pūṣann asmin sūtā varyamā hotā kṛṇotu vedhāḥ | sisratāṃ nāry ṛtaprajātā vi parvāṇi jihatāṃ sūtavā u ||
Vashat to you, O Pūṣan; in this rite may Varyamān as Hotar perform the sacred work. Let the right-born women draw near; let the joints loosen, O bringer of birth.

चत॑स्रो दि॒वः प्र॒दिश॒श्चत॑स्रो॒ भूम्या॒ उ॒त। दे॒वा गर्भं॒ समै॑रय॒न् तं व्यू॑र्णुवन्तु॒ सूत॑वे ॥२॥
catasro divaḥ pradiśaś catasro bhūmyā uta | devā garbhaṃ sam airayan taṃ vyūrṇuvantu sūtave ||
Four are the quarters of the sky and four of the earth as well. The gods have set the embryo within; let them unfold it for birth.

सू॒षा व्यू॑र्णोतु॒ वि योनिं॑ हापयामसि । श्र॒थया॑ सूषणे॒ त्वमव॒ त्वं बि॑ष्कले सृज ॥३॥
sūṣā vyūrṇotu vi yoniṃ hāpayāmasi | śrathayā sūṣaṇe tvam ava tvaṃ bhiṣkale sṛja ||
May Sūṣā unwrap; we ease open the womb. With your loosening, Sūṣaṇī, protect; and you, Bhiṣkala, set free.

नेव॑ मां॒से न पीव॑सि॒ नेव॑ म॒ज्जस्वाह॑तम्। अवै॑तु॒ पृश्नि॒ शेव॑लं॒ शुने॑ ज॒राय्वत्त॒वेऽव॑ ज॒रायु॑ पद्यताम्॥४॥
neva māṃse na pīvasi neva majj svāhatam |avaitū pṛśni śevalaṃ śune jarāyvat tave ’va jarāyu padyatām ||
Do not lodge in flesh, nor in fat; do not sink into the marrow, struck down. Let the mottled, the lucky one, the dog with afterbirth, go to its own; let the afterbirth fall away from you.

वि ते॑ भिनद्मि॒ मेह॑नं॒ वि योनिं॒ वि ग॒वीनि॑के । वि मा॒तरं॑ च पु॒त्रं च॒ वि कु॑मा॒रं ज॒रायु॒णाव॑ ज॒रायु॑ पद्यताम्॥५॥
vi te bhinadmi mehanaṃ vi yoniṃ vi gavīnike | vi mātaraṃ ca putraṃ ca vi kumāraṃ jarāyuṇāva jarāyu padyatām ||
I split open your passage of urine, your womb, your cow-shed door. Mother and child I separate, the boy and the afterbirth—let the afterbirth drop away from you.

यथा॒ वातो॒ यथा॒ मनो॒ यथा॒ पत॑न्ति प॒क्षि॑णः॑ । ए॒वा त्वं द॑शमास्य सा॒कं ज॒रायु॑णा प॒ताव॑ ज॒रायु॑ पद्यताम्॥६॥
yathā vāto yathā mano yathā patanti pakṣiṇaḥ evā tvaṃ daśamāsya sākaṃ jarāyuṇā patāva jarāyu padyatām
As the wind goes, as the mind goes, as birds fly—so may you, together with the afterbirth, come forth in the tenth month; let the afterbirth come out.
