होता यक्षद्दुरो दिशः कवष्यो न व्यचस्वतीरश्विभ्यां न दुरो दिशऽइन्द्रो न रोदसी दुघे दुहे धेनुः सरस्वत्यश्विनेन्द्राय भेषजं शुक्रं न ज्योतिरिन्द्रियं पयः सोमः परिस्रुता घृतं मधु व्यन्त्वाज्यस्य होतर्यज।
Hotā yakṣadduro diśaḥ kavaṣyo na vyacasvatīraśvibhyā≈ na duro diśa'indro na rodasī dughe duhe dhenuḥ sarasvatyaśvinendrāya bheṣaja≈ śukra≈ na jyotirindriya≈ payaḥ somaḥ parisrutā ghṛta≈ madhu vyantvājyasya hotaryaja.
The hotā invoked the difficult regions, the protectors; not failing Sarasvatī to the horses; not the hard direction Indra, nor the flowing; in the milking twice the cow’s milk—Sarasvatī for the Ashvins—medicines, Shukra (Venus), not the light sense; the Soma’s fluid, clarified butter and honey they offered for the priest’s oblation.
