आयं पुरो हरिकेशः सूउर्यरश्मिस्तस्य रथगृत्सश्च रथौजाश्च सेनानीग्रामण्यौ। पुञ्जिकस्थला च क्रतुस्थला चाप्सरसौ। दङ्क्ष्णवः पशवो हेतिः पौरुषेयो वधः प्रहेतिस्तेभ्यो नमो अस्तु ते नोऽ वन्तु ते नो मृडयन्तु ते यं द्विष्मो यश्च नो द्वेष्टि तमेषां जम्भे दध्मः।
āya≈ puro harikeśaḥ sūuryaraśmistasya rathagṛtsaśca rathaujāśca senānīgrāmaṇyau. Pu¤jikasthalā ca kratusthalā cāpsarasau. DaΔkṣṇavaḥ paśavo hetiḥ pauruṣeyo vadhaḥ prahetistebhyo namo astu te no' vantu te no mṛŒayantu te ya≈ dviṣmo yaśca no dveṣṭi tameṣā≈ jambhe dadhmaḥ.
This city is Hari-kesha, its ray is of the Sun; its chariot-hafts and splendid chariot, its warriors and hamlets. The hillock-place and the place of sacrifice and the Apsara. The southern animals are the cause; the heroic slaying is the slaughter for men—hail to them; may they protect us, may they be not hostile, may they not injure us who hate them; on their jaws let us set them.
