क्षत्रस्योल्वमसि क्षत्रस्य जराय्वसि क्षत्रस्य योनिरसि क्षत्रस्य नाभिरसीन्द्रस्य वार्त्रघ्नमसि मित्रस्यासि वरुणस्यासि त्वयाऽयम वृत्रं वधेत। दृवाऽसि रुजासि क्षुमासि। पतैनम प्राञ्चं पातैनं प्रत्यञ्चं पातैनं तिर्यञ्चं दिग्भ्यः पात।
Kṣatrasyolvamasi kṣatrasya jarāyvasi kṣatrasya yonirasi kṣatrasya nābhirasīndrasya vārtraghnamasi mitrasyāsi varuṇasyāsi tvayā'yam vṛtra≈ vadhet. Dṛvā'si rujāsi kṣumāsi. Patainam prā¤ca≈ pātaina≈ pratya¤ca≈ pātaina≈ tirya¤ca≈ digbhyaḥ pāt.
You are the protector of the kṣatra, the healer of its old age, the womb and navel of the kṣatra; by you Indra is the slayer of Vṛtra, by you Mitra and Varuṇa—be this Vṛtra slain. You are steady, piercing, cleansing. May the east, the front, the back and the south, the quarter and the regions be guarded.
