असाव अपि तु प्रगृह्योदकाञ्जलिं मुनिशापप्रदानायोद्यतो भगवान अस्मद्गुरुर नार्हस्य एनं कुलदेवताभूतम आचार्यं शप्तुम इति मदयन्त्या स्वपत्न्या प्रसादितः। सस्याम्बुदरक्षणार्थं तच छापाम्बु नोर्व्यां न चाकाशे चिक्षेप तेनैव स्वपदौ सिषेच।।
asāv api tu pragṛhyodakāñjaliṃ muniśāpapradānāyodyato bhagavān asmadgurur nārhasy enaṃ kuladevatābhūtam ācāryaṃ śaptum iti madayantyā svapatnyā prasāditaḥ| sasyāmbudarakṣaṇārthaṃ tac chāpāmbu norvyāṃ na cākāśe cikṣepa tenaiva svapadau siṣeca||
He, having taken the water in his hands, was prepared to give the sage's curse. The Lord, our guru, was not inclined to curse this teacher, who is the family deity, being pleased by his wife. To protect the crops, he did not throw that water into the ocean or the sky, but sprinkled it on his own feet.
