स चाप्य अचिन्तयद अहो ऽस्य राज्ञो दौःशील्यं येनैतन मांसम अस्माकं प्रयच्छति किम एतद द्रव्यजातम इति ध्यानपरो ऽभूत। अपश्यच च तन मानुषमांसम। ततश च क्रोधकलुषीकृतचेता राजानं प्रति शापम उत्ससर्ज। यस्माद अभोज्यम एतद अस्मद्विधानां तपस्विनाम अवगच्छन्न अपि भवान मह्यं ददाति तस्मात तवैवात्र लोलुपा बुद्धिर भविष्यतीति।।
sa cāpy acintayad aho 'sya rājño dauḥśīlyaṃ yenaitan māṃsam asmākaṃ prayacchati kim etad dravyajātam iti dhyānaparo 'bhūt| apaśyac ca tan mānuṣamāṃsam| tataś ca krodhakaluṣīkṛtacetā rājānaṃ prati śāpam utsasarja| yasmād abhojyam etad asmadvidhānāṃ tapasvinām avagacchann api bhavān mahyaṃ dadāti tasmāt tavaivātra lolupā buddhir bhaviṣyatīti||
He also thought, 'What is the king's cruelty that he offers us this flesh? This is a material substance,' and became absorbed in meditation. He did not see that it was human flesh. Then, filled with anger, he cursed the king, saying, 'Since you give this inedible food to us ascetics, even though you know it, your mind will become greedy here.'
