भवतीनां जनयिता महाराजः समाज्ञापयति। अयम अस्मान ब्रह्मर्षिः कन्यार्थी समभ्यागतो मया चास्य प्रतिज्ञातं यद्य अस्मत्कन्यका काचिद भगवन्तं वरयति तत कन्यायाश छन्दे नाहं परिपन्थानं करिष्यामीत्य आकर्ण्य सर्वा एव ताः कन्याः सानुरागाः समन्मथाः करेणव इवेभयूथपतिं तम ऋषिम अहमहमिकया वरयां बभूवुः।।
bhavatīnāṃ janayitā mahārājaḥ samājñāpayati| ayam asmān brahmarṣiḥ kanyārthī samabhyāgato mayā cāsya pratijñātaṃ yady asmatkanyakā kācid bhagavantaṃ varayati tat kanyāyāś chande nāhaṃ paripanthānaṃ kariṣyāmīty ākarṇya sarvā eva tāḥ kanyāḥ sānurāgāḥ samanmathāḥ kareṇava ivebhayūthapatiṃ tam ṛṣim ahamahamikayā varayāṃ babhūvuḥ||
The king, the father of the maidens, announces: 'This Brahmarshi has come to us seeking a maiden. I have promised that if any of our daughters chooses a husband, I will not obstruct that maiden.' Hearing this, all the maidens, filled with affection, began to choose him as their husband, like bees choosing a king.
