अक्रूरो ऽप्य उत्तममणिसमुद्भूतसुवर्णध्यानपरस ततो यज्ञान ईजे। सवनगतौ हि क्षत्रियवैश्यौ निघ्नन ब्रह्महा भवतीत्य अतो दीक्षाकवचं प्रविष्ट एव तस्थौ। द्विषष्टिवर्षाण्य एवं तन्मणिप्रभावात तत्रोपसर्गदुर्भिक्षमरकादिकं नाभूत।।
akrūro 'py uttamamaṇisamudbhūtasuvarṇadhyānaparas tato yajñān īje| savanagatau hi kṣatriyavaiśyau nighnan brahmahā bhavatīty ato dīkṣākavacaṃ praviṣṭa eva tasthau| dviṣaṣṭivarṣāṇy evaṃ tanmaṇiprabhāvāt tatropasargadurbhikṣamarakādikaṃ nābhūt||
Akrura also performed a sacrifice, having emerged from the best gem and golden meditation. When the Kshatriyas and Vaishyas were engaged in the sacrifice, it was said that killing a Brahmin would occur; hence, he stood firmly with the initiation armor. Due to the power of that gem, there were no calamities like famine or drought for sixty years.
