तदार्तनादश्रवणानन्तरं चामर्षपूर्णहृदयः स जाम्बवान आजगाम। तयोश च परस्परम युध्यतोर द्वयोर युद्धम एकविंशतिदिनान्य अभवत। ते च यदुसैनिकास तत्र सप्ताष्ट दिनानि तन्निष्क्रान्तिम उदीक्षमाणास तस्थुः। अनिष्क्रममाणे च मधुरिपाव असाव अवश्यम अत्र बिले ऽत्यन्तं नाशम आप्तो भविष्यत्य अन्यथा तस्य जीवतः कथम एतावन्ति दिनानि शत्रुजये व्याक्षेपो भवतीति कृताध्यवसाया द्वारकाम आगत्य हतः कृष्ण इति कथयाम आसुः।।
tadārtanādaśravaṇānantaraṃ cāmarṣapūrṇahṛdayaḥ sa jāmbavān ājagāma| tayoś ca parasparam yudhyator dvayor yuddham ekaviṃśatidināny abhavat| te ca yadusainikās tatra saptāṣṭa dināni tanniṣkrāntim udīkṣamāṇās tasthuḥ| aniṣkramamāṇe ca madhuripāv asāv avaśyam atra bile 'tyantaṃ nāśam āpto bhaviṣyaty anyathā tasya jīvataḥ katham etāvanti dināni śatrujaye vyākṣepo bhavatīti kṛtādhyavasāyā dvārakām āgatya hataḥ kṛṣṇa iti kathayām āsuḥ||
After hearing the cries of distress, Jambavan, with a heart full of anger, arrived. A battle ensued between the two, lasting for twenty-one days. The Yadu warriors, watching the outcome, remained there for seven or eight days, anticipating the end. As the battle continued, the enemy would certainly meet their end here; otherwise, how could they survive for so many days in victory over the enemy? Thus, they resolved to go to Dwaraka, saying, 'Krishna has been slain.'
