।।2.14।।शब्दस्पर्शरूपरसगन्धाः साश्रयाः तन्मात्राकार्यत्वात् मात्रा इति उच्यन्ते। श्रोत्रादिभिः तेषां स्पर्शाः शीतोष्ण मृदुपरुषादिरूपसुखदुःखदा भवन्ति। शीतोष्णशब्दः प्रदर्शनार्थः तान् धैर्येण यावद्युद्धादिशास्त्रीयकर्मसमाप्ति तितिक्षस्व। ते च आगमापायि त्वाद् धैर्यवतां क्षन्तुं योग्याः। अनित्याः च एते बन्धहेतुभूतकर्मनाशे सति आगमापायित्वेन अपि निवर्तन्ते इत्यर्थः। तत्क्षान्तिः किमर्था इत्यत आह
