The Wind-god himself who is engaged in the welfare of the worlds, has narrated this popular Pur&na consisting of the four Padas8 (sections) , viz. Prakriyd is the first section, where the story is taken up (the other sections are) Anusaftga, Upodghata and Upa&athhdra.
