Those who follow the rigorous discipline of the four castes and stages of life and those who do not go contrary to the injunctions of the scriptures are called Siffas ( the eminent and the distinguished) . The practice and adherence of the discipline of Vargas and Adramas is conducive to the attainmcnt of the abodes of the Devas (i.e. Heaven). i
