If one does not accept the words of sages as authority nor has regard for good manners as practised by virtuous and respectable men; if one is opposed to the discipline of (four) castes and stages in life; and if a man is antagonistic to wise men and scriptural injunctions—that is the cause of rebirth in lower species.
