The cessation of attachment (Rdga) and hatred ( Dvesa) is called knowledge. Ignorance is the root-cause of Tamas. Rajas has two-fold Karman (the auspicious and inauspicious) as its result. The resumption of the physical body once again is the result of Karmas. Thus great misery begins to function.
