म॒नी॒षिभिः॑ पवते पू॒र्व्यः क॒विर्नृभि॑र्य॒तः परि॒ कोशा॑ँ अचिक्रदत् । त्रि॒तस्य॒ नाम॑ ज॒नय॒न्मधु॑ क्षर॒दिन्द्र॑स्य वा॒योः स॒ख्याय॒ कर्त॑वे
manīṣibhiḥ pavate pūrvyaḥ kavirnṛbhiryataḥ pari kośām̐ acikradat tritasya nāma janayanmadhu kṣaradindrasya vāyoḥ sakhyāya kartave
With wise men he stirred the earlier heaven; the seer among men encompassed the pail of worlds. He produced the name of Tritas, the sweet, from Indra or the wind, for the sake of friendship.
The ancient sage (Soma) is purified by the wise, guided by the priests he roars into the receptacles; genitive rating the water of the threefold (Indra), he distils sweet juice to gain Indra's and Vāyu's friendship.
On, with the prudent singers, flows the ancient Sage and guided by the men hath roared about the vats. Producing Trita's name, may he pour forth the meath, that Vayu and that Indra may become his Friends.
