The devas pour forth this dawn with a wave of splendour; upon men it pours the skin (surface). It places the fetus in the womb, by which we cherish the breast and the son and the abode.
Combining with the wave the Soma utters a cry; he sprinkles his god-protecting body for the worshipper; he plural ces the germ upon the lap of the earth, whereby we acquire sons and grandsons.
The Soma-stalk hath roared, following with the wave: he swells with sap for man the skin which Gods enjoy. Upon the lap of Aditi he lays the germ, by means whereof we gain children and progeny.
