Those who sing in like voice the fathers and mothers grieve, breaking and burning vows. Indra, enraged, rends the foam; by illusion you shrink, O earth, and divide the heavens.
(The rays) which were manifested in heaven and earth, illumined by the hymn (of praise), consuming the impious (sacrificers), drive away by their wisdom from earth and heaven the black-skinned (rākṣasas) hated by Indra.
O'er Sire and Mother they have roared in unison bright with the verse of praise, burning up riteless men, Blowing away with supernatural might from earth and from the heavens the swarthy skin which Indra hates.
