Where you shone with the light of heaven, where you spread over the sea, where you made dwelling on earth and struck down the Vrtra in the mid-air.
Or whether you are in the brightness of heaven, or whether in some region in the midst of the sea, orwhether, mightiest slayer of Vṛtra, in some abode in the earth, or whether in the firmament, -- come to us.
Come, Indra, very near to us with aids of firmly-based resolve; Come, most auspicious, with thy most auspicious help, good Kinsman, with good kinsmen, come!
