You smote fierce foes among hostile men, overthrowing death-bringing arrogance; knowledge (veda) flies, mindful, the foremost charioteer — may he not destroy the powerful vajra-wielder.
We join (to our rite) the mighty Indra, the subduer of enemies in battles, the inviolate, him to whompraise is due as a debt; he, the best of charioteers, knows (among steeds) the strong racer, and (among men)he, the bounteous (knows) the offerer whom he is to reach.
Ye cows, protect the fount: the two Mighty Ones bless the sacrifice. The handles twain are wrought of gold.
