We do not worship you as grasping; today we worship Indra’s best man among men. May he sometimes come with valor, bringing wealth, with keen wisdom—heavenward to many alike.
Do we not invoke you both? We worship especially Indra, who is the strongest leader of men; he comesoccasionally with his horses to bestow upon us food; he comes to partake of the sacrifice; may all ouradversaries perish.
We set no snares to tangle you; Indra we worship and adore, Hero of heroes mightiest. Once may he come unto us with his Steed, come unto us to win us strength, and to complete the sacrifice.
