Victorious over the fetters of Vrtra, bearer of spoils, you, mighty in rallying hosts, with Shachi’s sway and all‑opening glories: drink the midday Soma of the sacrificers, O strong one.
You protect, Indra, lord of rites, with all protections in combats with enemies, this sacrifice of him whooffers you the libations; slayer of Vṛtra, irreproachable wielder of the thunderbolt drink of the Soma at themid-day solemnity.
THIS prayer, and those who shed the juice, in wars with Vrtra thou holpest, Indra, Lord of Strength, with all thy succours. O Vrtra-slayer, from libation poured at noon, drink of the Soma juice, thou blameless Thunderer.
