atreriva śaṛṇutaṃ pūrvyastutiṃ śyāvāśvasya sunvato madacyutā sajoṣasā uṣasā sūryeṇa cāśvinā tiroahnyam
Hear here the ancient praise of the black-steed who listens, borne by the charioteer chosen. With the company of dawn, of Ushas, of Surya — the Ashvins crossed the shore at daybreak.
Humblers of the pride (of your enemies), hear the earnest praise of Śyāvāśva offering libations as(you did) that of Atri, and, united with the dawn and with Sūrya, (drink), Aśvins, (the Soma) prepared theprevious day.
As ye heard Atri's earliest eulogy, so hear Syavasva, Soma-presser, ye who reel in joy. Accordant, of one mind with Surya and with Dawn, drink juice, O Asvins, three days old.
