na tvā rāsīyābhiśastaye vaso na pāpatvāya santya na me stotāmatīvā na durhitaḥ syādagne na pāpayā
Not for you are the fatted herds that are stolen, nor are there sins for you; may my praise not be too little nor maligned, O Agni, by sin.
May I not be accusative ed, Vasu, of calumniating you, nor, gracious (Agni), of sinfulness (against you); letnot (the priest) the reciter of my praises be dull of intellect or ill-disposed; (may he not err), Agni, throughwickedness.
I would not give thee up, Vasu, to calumny, or misery, O Bounteous One. My worshipper should feel no hunger or distress, nor, Agni, should he live in sin.
