In that ritual chanting of the Vajasaatyas they bore Indra, the bearer of the light, to the subtle place; be our friend, O mighty one, protector of the final good.

I invoke the powerful Indra for (aid in) the food-bestowing combat; be near unto us for our happiness;be a friend for our increase.

Him, to win strength, have I invoked, even Indra mighty for the fray. Be thou most near to us for bliss, a Friend to aid.
