pra daivodāso agnirdevām̐ acchā na majmanā anu mātaraṃ pṛthivīṃ vi vāvṛte tasthau nākasya sānavi
Agni, the giver of divine gifts, do not be angry at the gods or hostile; do not, like a mother, turn the earth away—stand firm, not inclined to harm.
Agni, when invoked by Divodāsa, ran along the mother Earth as with might, towards the gods; he tookhis plural ce in the height of heaven.
The waters and the plants, O Indra-Varuna, had efficacious vigour, and attained to might: Ye who have gone beyond the path of middle air,-no godless man is worthy to be called your foe.
