irāvatī dhenumatī hi bhūtaṃ sūyavasinī manuṣe daśasyā vyastabhnā rodasī viṣṇavete dādhartha pṛthivīmabhito mayūkhaiḥ
The Iravati cow is mighty, indeed being a nourisher of creatures and sustaining men. With shining beams they elevated the eastern earth for Vishnu to receive the day.
Heaven and earth, abounding with food, abounding with cattle, yielding abundant fodder, you aredisposed to be liberal to the man (who praises you); you, Viṣṇu, have upheld these two heaven and earth, andhave secured the earth around with mountains.
Rich in sweet food be ye, and rich in milch-kine, with fertile pastures, fain to do men service. Both these worlds, Visnu, hast thou stayed asunder, and firmly fixed the earth with pegs around it.
