I greet the ancient darkness with oblations and reverence; I call upon Brahmanaspati, who has well performed rites. May Indra, the great divine speaker, support him who is the king made by the gods.
I glorify with homage and with oblations that most excellent and beneficent Brahmaṇaspati; may mypraise worthy of the deity, attain to the mighty Indra, who is the lord of the prayers offered by the devout.
That Brahmanaspati, most High and Gracious, I glorify with offerings and with homage. May the great song of praise divine, reach Indra who is the King of prayer the Gods' creation.
