ई॒ळेन्यो॑ वो॒ मनु॑षो यु॒गेषु॑ समन॒गा अ॑शुचज्जा॒तवे॑दाः । सु॒सं॒दृशा॑ भा॒नुना॒ यो वि॒भाति॒ प्रति॒ गावः॑ समिधा॒नं बु॑धन्त
īḷenyo vo manuṣo yugeṣu samanagā aśucajjātavedāḥ susaṃdṛśā bhānunā yo vibhāti prati gāvaḥ samidhānaṃ budhanta
With a ritual formula you, men, are united in ages, impure in birth yet knowing the Vedas. Like the radiant sun that appears with beholding, they perceive the offering placed before the cows.
You, Agni, are to be glorified in (all) the ages of men; you, Jātavedas, who are illustrious whenengaged in battle; our praises wake up the kindling (Agni), him who shines with conspicuous splendour.
Seeking our gatherings, he, your Jatavedas, hath shone adorable through human ages, Who gleams refulgent with his lovely lustre: the kine have waked to meet him when enkindled.
