If Indra and Varuṇa circled all born things of the world with their mighty rope, Mithra would strengthen Varuṇa for welfare; the maruts, fierce, would grant auspiciousness.
Indra and Varuṇa, inasmuch as you have created by your might all these beings of the world, thereforeMitra worships Varuṇa for prosperity, while the other, the fierce Indra, associated with the Maruts, acquiresglory.
O Indra-Varuna, as ye created all these creatures of the world by your surpassing might, In peace and quiet Mitra waits on Varuna, the Other, awful, with the Maruis seeks renown.
