Invoke Mitra and Varuṇa, the wise seer, the brahman who performs noble deeds with long-hearing attention; may what was made by ritual not fail to fill the autumn festival.

The holy sage, renowned afar, directeth his hymns to you, O Varuna and Mitra,- He whose devotions, sapient Gods, ye favour so that ye fill, as 'twere, with power his autumns.
