tām̐ ā rudrasya mīḷhuṣo vivāse kuvinnaṃsante marutaḥ punarnaḥ yatsasvartā jihīḷire yadāvirava tadena īmahe turāṇām
Those who, like Rudra’s strong ones, were scattered, the Maruts assembled them again. When they who were inwardly joyous uttered cries, we called them together as swift ones.
I adore those sons of the showerer, Rudra; may the Maruts, repeatedly invoked, again come to us; maywe expiate (by praise) whatever we have committed secretly or openly against the swift-moving Maruts, by whichthey are displeased.
I call, as such, the Sons of bounteous Rudra: will not the Maruts turn again to us-ward? What secret sin or open stirs their anger, that we implore the Swift Ones to forgive us.
