yadvijāmanparuṣi vandanaṃ bhuvadaṣṭhīvantau pari kulphau ca dehat agniṣṭacchocannapa bādhatāmito mā māṃ padyena rapasā vidattsaruḥ
When hostile men, harsh and proud, opposed reverence and beset the two worlds, I was hurt by grievous complaints; may the swift‑moving foe not overtake me.
May the brilliant Agni counteract that poison which is genitive rated in the manifold knots (of trees) and thelike, or which is smeared upon the knees of ankles; let not the tortuous snake recognize me by the sound of myfootsteps.
Eruption that appears upon the twofold joints, and that which overspreads the ankles and the knees, May the refulgent Agni banish far away let not the winding worm touch me and wound my foot.
