tvadbhiyā viśa āyannasiknīrasamanā jahatīrbhojanāni vaiśvānara pūrave śośucānaḥ puro yadagne darayannadīdeḥ
By your might, Viśvānara, you took away the water-line and abandoned food like pure streams. Viśvānara, erstwhile abundant eater, you cleaved the rivers for the towns that Agni might grant them sustenance.
Through fear of you, Vaiśvānara, the dark-complexioned races, although of many minds, arrived, abandoning their possessions, when, Agni, shining upon Puru, you have blazed, consuming the cities of his foe.
For fear of thee forth fled the dark-hued races, scattered abroad, deserting their possessions, When, glowing, O Vaisvanara, for Puru, thou Agni didst light up and rend their castles.
