स॒मु॒द्रज्ये॑ष्ठाः सलि॒लस्य॒ मध्या॑त्पुना॒ना य॒न्त्यनि॑विशमानाः । इन्द्रो॒ या व॒ज्री वृ॑ष॒भो र॒राद॒ ता आपो॑ दे॒वीरि॒ह माम॑वन्तु
samudrajyeṣṭhāḥ salilasya madhyātpunānā yantyaniviśamānāḥ indro yā vajrī vṛṣabho rarāda tā āpo devīriha māmavantu
Those born of the ocean, the eldest of waters, returning and entering, the rivers press inward. O Indra, thou bull of might, as the deities came hither, let the waters, goddesses, favor me.
The waters, with their ocen-chief, proceed from the midst of the firmament, purifying (all things), flowingunceasingly; may the divine waters, whom the thunder-bearing Indra, the showerer, sent forth, protect me here(on earth).
FORTH from the middle of the flood the Waters-their chief the Sea-flow cleansing, never sleeping. Indra, the Bull, the Thunderer, dug their channels: here let those Waters, Goddesses, protect me.
