न दु॑ष्टु॒ती मर्त्यो॑ विन्दते॒ वसु॒ न स्रेध॑न्तं र॒यिर्न॑शत् । सु॒शक्ति॒रिन्म॑घव॒न्तुभ्यं॒ माव॑ते दे॒ष्णं यत्पार्ये॑ दि॒वि
na duṣṭutī martyo vindate vasu na sredhantaṃ rayirnaśat suśaktirinmaghavantubhyaṃ māvate deṣṇaṃ yatpārye divi
A mortal does not find fault-telling; the Vasus’ praise does not fail. Grant strength to the generous ones, O lord, may they reach the revenue that is spread on high.
A man acquires not wealth by unbecoming praise; affluence devolves not upon one obstructing(sacrifice) in you, Maghavan, is the power whereby bounty (may be shown) to such as I am on the day of libation.
A moral wins no riches by unworthy praise: wealth comes not to the niggard churl. Light is the task to give, O Maghavan, to one like me on the decisive day.
